The Silicon Power XPOWER Zenith DDR5-5600 kit arrived in a retail package that sported a sleek flat blister design. On the front, the packaging proudly displayed the memory branding, Zenith RGB, alongside crucial specifications like the rated XMP (DDR5-5600), DIMM configuration, and RGB software compatibility with ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, and ASRock.

However, flipping to the back, while it highlighted support for the latest Intel XMP standards and compatibility guarantees in multiple languages, one critical piece of information was conspicuously absent: details regarding the applied XMP timings and voltage. Typically, this vital data is either located on the back of the packaging or visible on the memory DIMMs themselves. Regrettably, the sticker containing this information was inconveniently placed on the opposite side of the memory, rendering it invisible without opening the packaging.

Closer Look

Silicon Power Zenith RGB modules come in both white and black variants, catering to a diverse range of consumer preferences and enabling compatibility with various themed computer builds. The white version, which we received for review, presents a sleek and modern aesthetic. Positioned in the bottom center of the heat spreader is the distinctive XPOWER brand logo, a mark of quality and performance.

Meanwhile, the top right corner of both sides of the module prominently displays “DDR5 GAMING MEMORY,” signaling its high-speed capabilities optimized for gaming enthusiasts. Beneath the heat spreader, the RAM module’s PCB is black, providing a striking contrast against the white exterior and contributing to the overall visual appeal. With its combination of style and performance, the Silicon Power Zenith RGB modules offer a compelling choice for gamers and PC enthusiasts alike.

Silicon Power maintains consistency in design with its non-RGB enabled models by retaining the heat spreader configuration. Even in the absence of RGB SMDs, the light diffuser atop the heat spreader remains intact, showcasing a commitment to aesthetic appeal. Notably, an XPOWER logo adorns the surface, adding a distinctive touch to the overall appearance.

When positioned sideways, the DIMMs reveal the prominent XPOWER logo positioned centrally, complemented by the inscription “DDR5 RGB” in the corner. Silicon Power maintains consistency in the design of its heat spreaders across various models, including those integrated with RGB lighting. Thus, even in the absence of RGB Surface-Mounted Devices (SMDs), the top still features a light diffuser. Upon installation onto the motherboard, the visible component comprises a matte plastic backlight diffuser, concealing the RGB LEDs behind it. This distinctive memory module element proudly displays the Xpower branding, adding a touch of sophistication to any system configuration.

The efficient cooling of memory chips is crucial for maintaining optimal performance in computing systems. An aluminum radiator serves this purpose effectively by dissipating heat generated by the RAM modules. Comprising two plates positioned on either side of the RAM module, this radiator efficiently draws heat away from the memory chips. Additionally, the memory is equipped with a non-intrusive aluminum heat spreader, ensuring effective heat dissipation without adding excessive bulk. With a maximum height of 38.5mm (1.52 inches), this heat spreader seamlessly integrates into various computing setups, providing both performance and practicality.

The Silicon Power XPOWER Zenith DDR5 memory in its RGB variant relies entirely on the lighting software of your motherboard for customization. It boasts compatibility with popular programs such as Asus Aura Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, MSI Mystic Light Sync, and ASRock Polychrome Sync.

Supported by MSI’s motherboards, the RGB illumination offers a choice between two sleek color variations: White or Black. While the white version, exemplified in the provided photos courtesy of Silicon Power, offers a clean aesthetic, the RGB lighting can sometimes prove distracting, especially when certain colors are displayed or from particular viewing angles. Additionally, Silicon Power’s inclusion of their logo in the center of the memory module may not appeal to those seeking a more minimalist appearance within their PC case.

Performance Test

The MSI MPG Z690 FORCE WIFI DDR5 motherboard combined with an Intel® Core™ i7-13700K CPU constituted the test platform. Testing of memory began at a default speed of 4800MHz, reaching up to 5600MHz, and manually overclocked to 6800MHz, examining both memory bandwidth and latency.

The Silicon Power XPOWER Zenith DDR5 memory module ensures compatibility across both Intel and AMD platforms, alleviating concerns regarding platform suitability for users. Enabling XMP within the motherboard control page suffices for memory overclocking. For more intricate overclocking adjustments, accessing the advanced mode permits fine-tuning of CPU P core and E core frequency multipliers, along with memory frequency, voltage, and timings.

Through Typhoon software, we checked the relevant parameters of Silicon Power XPOWER Zenith DDR5 memory and particles. The Thaiphoon shows us that these modules were produced between October 16-20, 2023. Memory chips manufactured by Hynix. Silicon Power Xpower Zenith RGB has one Intel XMP 3.0 profile with a frequency of 5600 MHz at a voltage of 1.35V and timings of 40-40-40-76-116 and No AMD EXPO profile found.

Silicon Power XPOWER Zenith DDR5 uses carefully selected high-specification Hynix A-die chips, with a high frequency timing of 5600MHz as low as CL40, and is equipped with an ON-die ECC error correction mechanism and PMIC power management chip to ensure high frequency Stable and smooth operation, it can also ensure the stability of the power load and reduce the burden on other main components (especially the CPU )

According to the CPU -Z, the particles of this memory are SK Hynix, the official promotion is that Hynix’s original and original printed chips are used. In recent years, SK Hynix’s DDR5 memory chips are still very powerful, with huge overclocking potential, especially this XMP chip that can reach up to 6800MHz!

In terms of performance, AID64 was used to perform read and write tests on this DDR5 memory. At the default frequency of 4800MHz, the timing was 40-40-40-76, the read speed was 72680MB/s, the write speed was 67972MB/s, and the copy speed was 65785MB/s and the latency was 90.0ns.

When XMP is enabled through the BIOS menu of the MSI MPG Z690 FORCE WIFI DDR5 motherboard, the memory frequency is instantly increased to 5600MHz, the timing is 40-40-40-76, and the performance is naturally improved across the board. The read speed reached 85402MB/s, the write speed was 78137MB/s, the copy speed was 77285MB/s, and the latency dropped to 79.1ns. This kind of performance is still a very good result among products of the same level. Even without manual overclocking, the memory performance can run software and games without any pressure.

Don’t think that 5600MHz is the limit of Silicon Power XPOWER Zenith DDR5 memory. After continuing to manually overclock to 6800MHz, the performance is fully improved again. The reading speed reaches 101205MB/s, the writing speed is 88584MB/s, and the copying speed is also 89204MB/s. , the delay has dropped to 69.9ns.

At a frequency of 6800MHz, the Silicon Power XPOWER Zenith DDR5 runs very stably. There has been no blue screen phenomenon after two weeks of use. Even if you open multiple applications at this frequency, it obviously feels faster. In terms of games, under high image quality, I have experienced mainstream AAA games such as “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds”, “Elden’s Ring”, “God of War 4”, etc., and they can all guarantee the smooth running of more than 60+ frames at 2K resolution, awesome!
