This year, Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 5 and the Mi 6X as mid-range phones and looks like the company isn’t yet done with the mid-range devices. Today, an unknown Xiaomi phone with the name ‘Xiaomi Valentino’ showed up on Geekbench with the unannounced Snapdragon 638 processor. If you recall, the Redmi Note 5 was the first smartphone in the world to launch with the Snapdragon 636 processor so if this listing isn’t fake; it seems like Xiaomi will be the first to announce a phone with Snapdragon 638.
Xiaomi Valentino: Possible specifications
As mentioned above, the Snapdragon 638 processor is not yet official, and there are no details if this chipset is going to launch sometime in the future. Anyways, talking about the Xiaomi Valentino, Geekbench listing shows an octa-core 1.44GHz Snapdragon 638 processor, 6GB RAM and Android 8.1 Oreo running out of the box.
Talking about the scores, the phone scored 1485 on single core and 5440 on multi-core. The scores are pretty similar to the scores of Snapdragon 820 which means that the 638 will be a pretty powerful chipset, lying between the Snapdragon 636 and 660.
We have no information on the official name of the phone, but it will be interesting to see Xiaomi Valentino launching soon with an impressive price tag if it’s real.
