We have said it repeatedly, the global expansion of Xiaomi is imminent. And in this 2018 the brand has taken giant steps. In fact, today we have great news, the debut of the Chinese company in the UK. Xiaomi, the world’s fourth-largest smartphone maker, officially arrived in Britain on Thursday, November 8.
After a year of having started in the Spanish market, Xiaomi’s European foray is coming to the United Kingdom, led by its latest flagship phone, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro; an international debut that is expected to win fans in a market dominated by Samsung and Apple. Also, we will see this November the opening of an Authorized Mi Store in the Westfield shopping center in London.
Senior Vice President Xiang Wang said that the UK has “one element” that aligned with the company and its objective to attract the attention of its customers:
The UK is one of the important global centers for technology, It is a young energetic place, so pretty much fits our culture. We want to be the coolest company in our fans’ minds.
The official launch of Xiaomi in the UK
Europe has proven to be very receptive to Xiaomi’s charms, both for its devices with great features and for its economic prices. The company will soon have 16 stores in operation in Spain but also arrived in May to other European countries such as France and Italy. If we put the United Kingdom in the equation, Xiaomi has managed to reach one of the largest and most contested consumer electronics markets in the region. There is no doubt that the Chinese giant is striving to repeat the incredible success it has achieved in China and India.
Many of the Xiaomi smartphones are available in the UK today through Three, Argos, John Lewis, Amazon, Currys/PC World, Carphone Warehouse, Mobile Go, Mobile Phones Direct, Very and, of course, the Xiaomi store, Mi.com. However, the opening of its first store will be on November 18, as we mentioned, in the Westfield shopping center in London, where the assistants will enjoy a great event and the opportunity to test all the available products.
The price of the Mi 8 Pro will be £499.99, but the British Mi Fans can also purchase budget phones of the Redmi series. For example, the Redmi 6A will sell for only £99, and along with this, Three will give a Mi Band 3 for making a reservation in advance. By itself, the Mi Band 3 will cost £26.99. The Mi Electric Scooter will cost £399.99, but the first 100 units sold at the authorized store will have a discount price of £299.99.
