Xiaomi can launch Redmi S2 “Budget Smartphone” very soon. Redmi S2 is all set to be launched as a budget smartphone. The Company has teased the phone’s launch invite on May 10th. Xiaomi has also shared an image of the upcoming event which is already scheduled for May 10 in China. This partnership with Suning Tesco- which is one of the leading platforms in China has rumored that the Redmi S2 will be only available on Suning.com for China.

This update was being revealed by Mi in a post on Weibo. Previously, Xiaomi had released another teaser that shows the letter ‘S.’ Furthermore, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 images were leaked at a Mi Store recently. While China is going to witness the unveiling next week, India Launch is also expected to be held in the coming weeks, as per the rumors.

As far as leaks are concerned, this Redmi smartphone will also run MIUI 9 on top of Android Oreo (8.0). It is going to feature 5.99-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) display, with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is going to be powered by a 2GHz octa-core processor by Qualcomm. Which is the Snapdragon 625 and may be paired with three RAM variants which include 2GB/3GB/4GB options. The device comes with multiple storage options which are likely to be 16GB/32GB/64GB. Also, it would offer support for expandable memory with a microSD card up to 128GB.

This includes up to an audio jack and a vertically mounted dual camera at the back like what you see on the Mi 6X or the Note 5 Pro. There should be a 12MP primary camera and a 5MP front sensor. The front camera is expected to get a bump to a 16MP sensor, and this will come with a 3,080mAh battery. Which may last this device for a single day of normal usage.
