Anyone who thinks that cheap smartphones have bad cameras can start reviewing this concept. That’s because Redmi, which is now a subsidiary of Xiaomi, has just introduced the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, a cheap device with decent settings for a mid-range device and a 48MP camera, Snapdragon 660, a fast charge of 18W with 4000mAh battery. A phone with a screen with ‘notch’ and confirming almost all previous leaks that had been suffering. Let’s see little by little what he has to offer us.
The phone is presented in society wearing an LTPS Incell panel, one whose diagonal reaches 6.3 inches and with a 19.5: 9 ratio that shows, like the images, that we have a ‘notch’ in our hands. In this case in the form of a drop of water, not as wide as many models we have seen so far.
The resolution of this screen reaches 2340 x 1080 pixels and we speak of the brightness of 450 nits, a contrast of 1,500: 1 and an NTSC color coverage of 84%. A good face for a phone that debuts showing that the reduction of frames is no longer just one of the largest in the market. The screen, how could it be otherwise, has 2.5D glass, also on the back. A glass body that, however, does not add the wireless charge to the whole.
For the brain, the Redmi Note 7 will use the Snapdragon 660, a processor that reaches 2GHz and will be accompanied by 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB of RAM, and with 32GB and 64GB in storage. For the battery, the fast charge of 18W with the charger included in the package and USB port type C. All this to return the load to an internal battery of 4000mAh, of course not removable. By the way, we have an audio jack.
The photographic equipment of this new Redmi Note 7 is crowned by a 48MP rear Sony IMX586 sensor with 0.8-pixel pixels and an aperture f / 1.6 and is accompanied by another 5MP sensor for depth readings. A configuration to which we are already accustomed because it is not the first to reach the market in this way.
On the front, 13MP for selfies and all photographic equipment, back, and the front is supported by the artificial intelligence that Xiaomi phones have previously shown, which also run to its new Redmi line. So we will have an AI-assisted blur on both sides of the phone, in addition to other functionalities.
As for the connectivity options, we get Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, and a USB Type-C port. Interestingly, Xiaomi stated the Note 7 supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging technology. The Redmi Note 7 also has an IR Blaster on top. It runs MIUI 10 based on Android 9. It will be available in gold, blue and black color.
