After weeks of leaks, Xiaomi finally made the decision to launch the long-awaited Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro in Thailand. This new midrange smartphone is the successor to the famous Redmi Note 5 Pro, but it is not an important update.
In Thailand, this device was launched on the market with a total price of 6,990 baht which, at the current exchange rate, would be around 1,499 yuan or $216. In addition, it comes in three color options to choose from: black, blue and rose gold.
External features of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro
In terms of design, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is made from an aluminum monocoque design, while the upper and lower parts are made of plastic to provide better transmission of the antenna signal. This phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack, but the company has opted for a micro USB port instead of the usual USB type C port.
This new device launched by Xiaomi features a 6.26 inch Full HD + IPS LCD with an aspect ratio of 19:9, so it is slightly larger than the 5.99 inch screen that was seen in the previous Redmi Note 5 Pro. Unlike its predecessor, this phone comes with a notch located at the top of its screen.
Internal specifications of this new device
Regarding its internal specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor, the same chipset that powers the Redmi Note 5 Pro. It contains 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, in addition to a slot for a microSD card that supports the expansion of the storage capacity with which the phone is presented.
In the camera department, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro has a dual camera configuration located on the back, with a 12-megapixel main sensor with Dual Pixel autofocus and focal aperture of 1.9 and a secondary sensor of 5 megapixels for depth detection. Interestingly, in the front there is also a dual camera with AI, being based on a primary sensor of 20 megapixels and a secondary sensor of 2 megapixels. Likewise, it also has support for portrait mode and facial unlocking feature.
This device launched in Thailand has the Android Oreo operating system ready to use, along with the company’s own MIUI 9 custom ROM. On the other hand, it comes with the usual set of connectivity options and is powered by a battery with a medium capacity of 4,000mAh and fast charge support, which according to the company can last two days on a single charge.
