Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Battery Analysis – Surprisingly Unexpected Battery Life on a Mid-High-End Flagship

On 15 March, Xiaomi Media senior engineer @ Xiaomi Zou master shared the performance of Redmi Note 5. As you can see in the graphs below, three days have been passed but the battery level has dropped down from 100% to 25% only. You can clearly see that the bright screen uses more than 11 hours. Thus, the 4000mAh battery timing is worth praising especially on 6GB RAM and a Full-HD+ display.

The credit goes to the ultra energy-efficient SD 636 which undergoes the 14nm technology process. It uses 8-core 260 Kyro architecture with Adreno 509 GPU. If we compared Snapdragon 630 with 636, CPU performance has increased by 40%, GPU performance has increased by 10%. Apart from this, we also see a drastic improvement in the battery life. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 supports a 5.99-inch (18:9) display with 2160×1080 resolution. It comes with 6GB Ram and 64GB of storage, a dual rear camera with AI technology and the front camera with AI beauty. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Battery

Love to experience or learn about new gadgets and technology, New technology is not good or evil in and of itself. It's all about how people choose to use it.

  1. New Note5 on 1st June, been sent back to shop twice with the same problems. Has had new battery but still gets very hot and needs charging twice a day. I only use for phone calls, (only short calls of a couple of minutes at a time, long calls impossible as phone gets too hot to hold) , short time on the internet and WhatsApp. No games, clear the open pages after every use, use battery saver. When fully charged only shows max use 12hrs. Is this normal?
