Recently, Twitter user @Upleaks had revealed news about two new Xiaomi devices bearing model numbers 2,015,051 and 2,015,052. Now the two unreleased Xiaomi models have gotten network certification and were confirmed to feature 5.5-inch touch screens. All indications are, the device will the second generation Redmi Note 2. The devices look identical for the most part going by the images on the website of regulator TENAA, meaning they’re probably two variants of the exact same phone. The device comes with a plastic body with a storage combination of 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM and equipped with a 13 megapixel camera. The handset is rumored to officially go on sale later this month.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 features a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display and comes with very narrow bezels and a high screen-to-body ratio. The phone measures 152.05 × 76.2 × 8.05 mm, and weighs 158.62 grams. This makes the devices thinner and lighter than the last generation model. The battery on the device is rated at 3020 mAh, which is par for the course for a mid-range phablet.
As for the rest of the hardware specifications of the device, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will be powered by an octa-core CPU clocked at 2.0GHz, although we’re not exactly sure of the exact SoC at the moment. However, the clock-speed points at the MediaTek MT6795M chipset. As for the difference between the two variants, it seems the only difference seemingly lies in their support for network bands. The device bearing the model number 2,015,051 will reportedly support GSM / TD-SCDMA / TD-LTE / LTE FDD / WCDMA network, meaning it will be supporting China Unicom’s mobile take-2G / 3G / 4G networks, while Xiaomi 2,015,052 is said to support GSM / TD-SCDMA / TD-LTE network.
Coming to the price, rumors suggest this device will be priced as low as 799 Yuan ($130) and will launch either on July 16th or on July 28th. Additionally, @Upleaks has also suggested that yet another device, codenamed H3Z is in the pipelines from Xiaomi. That one will probably be the much-rumored Redmi Note 2 Pro and will come with full-metal body and a fingerprint scanner. I guess we’ll just have to wait to find out!
