While we are yet to find out whether Xiaomi will be launching the Mi 7 this year or a Mi 8 to commemorate their 8th year anniversary, the market has nearly forgotten about other units in the midrange devices. Being the region where the Chinese OEM excels the most, we now have details of the Xiaomi Redmi 6A at hand and it promises to be an amazing unit.
Worthy of note is the way this unit has evolved over the past devices in the Redmi family to bring us one device worthy of its name. To start with, the Xiaomi Redmi 6A is billed to come with a 6-inch IPS touchscreen which would be set at a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels.
While this does not suggest an 18:9 aspect ratio screen that we would have loved to see, it does promise to be a Full HD+ panel.
Under all that screen real estate is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 635 chipset at the heart of affairs. Packing a total of eight cores, this SoC will be able to clock 2.0GHz when tasked to the maximum. To support its action, we have Android 8.0 Oreo waiting.
3GB of RAM is paired to an internal storage space of 32GB, as if on cue. Should that not be enough for the user, they are given the option to expand via a dedicated microSD card slot. On the back of the unit will be a dual camera setup which as its main camera rated at 16MP. On the front, Xiaomi hopes their 8MP sensor will be able to take good care of your selfie needs. To cap it all off, a decent 3000mAh battery has been thrown into the mix.
Some rumors and leaks have already pegged the exact launch date of Xiaomi Redmi 6A to the 30th of August. Even if that date is not feasible, know that we will be getting this one anywhere in the late summer.
