Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro Officially Unveiled at Starting 999 Yuan
Today, Xiaomi officially announced a new phone named the Redmi 6 Pro, which targets the 1000 yuan market. It is also known as the ‘New Thousand Yuan Flagship.’ It is the first time that the Redmi series comes with a full-screen using a notch.

The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro comes in Cherry pink, Golden sand, Bali blue, Obsidian black, and Red. On the front, it carries a 5.84-inch screen with a resolution of 2280 × 1080 (19:9), a 500nit brightness, a 1500:1 contrast ratio, a color gamut coverage of 84% NTSC, and many more. This handset is equivalent to the traditional 5.1-inch phones.
It is packed with a Snapdragon 625 chip, which is paired with a 3/4GB RAM and 32/64GB storage. Surprisingly, there is an independent three-card slot design. You can extend the storage up to 256GB via the microSD card and use dual nano-SIM cards that fully support Netcom 3.0. The battery capacity is 4000mAh and it can be used for a full day. It is capable of providing 16.5 hours for standard video playback, 7.5 hours of playing games, and 34 hours to make calls. The battery supports 5V/2A charging.
Like many Xiaomi phones, the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro comes with an infrared remote control, dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm headphone jack, etc. It runs on MIUI9, which comes with a built-in AI voice assistant. This phone also supports pseudo-base station intelligent recognition, price comparison, photo translation and so on.
At last, the Redmi 6 Pro sports a 12MP + 5MP AI dual-camera with an aperture of f/2.2, a 1.25-micron pixel size, PDAF phase focus support, HDR mode, AI portrait mode, AI beauty, and 1080p video recording option. On the front, it carries a 5MP camera that supports AI portrait mode, AI smart beauty, AI face unlock, etc.
The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro’s 3+32GB variant is priced at 999 yuan ($152), while the 4+64GB model costs 1299 yuan ($198). The phone will go on sale on June 26.
