Xiaomi will Manufacture 5G Flagships in its own Xiaomi New Factory; Plant is Expected to Finish in December

In the preparations for the upcoming 5G smartphones era, Xiaomi has started to make consistent efforts. The world 5G Conference is appearing in China to discuss the matters pertaining to the upcoming technologies. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun held among the first few speakers to deliver a speech on stage. During the keynote, he said the company is building its own Xiaomi New Factory to assemble 5G smartphone devices. He further adds that the building process is in the last stage and we are summing up the processes soon in December.

As per the official information, the Xiaomi new factory will be situated in the Beijing Economic and Technologic Development Zone. Further, it will be an in-house plant to produce only flagship devices. To scale up the production units, cloud services and 5G laboratories, it will cover large-scale automated production lines.

Details of new Factory:

In terms of area measurement, the 5G factory will occupy around 187,000 square meters. The production units are expected to be remain around 60 units per minute. It means the 5G factory will be able to produce one smartphone in a second. Hence, it is as high as 60% as compared to traditional manufacturing units.

Now, as per the official expectations, the plant will witness the production of around 1 million units in the first phase. Though it is not a large figure as compared to the data given in theory. Theoretically, it can produce over 30 million units in a year (365 days).

Notably, the company will schedule frequent flash sales when it comes to the selling efforts of the new plant. By doing so, Xiaomi will be able to place its devices on the market shelves faster than before. Hence, the plant is expected to finish the building processes by December and hit the production efforts soon.
