In this post, we looked at the COMPLETE dismantling of this fan and the entire interior is exposed. This DC fan is jointly developed and manufactured by Xiaomi and Zhimi Technology. The main change is the cancellation of the built-in battery and remote control, and the price is more affordable compared to the previous generation.

It can achieve a 100-speed APP stepless variable speed and it is compatible with APP control. Also, it supports intelligent control through the AI Xiaomi speaker. Unpacking the Parts: Before the initial use, the user needs to assemble the components such as the fan cover, fan blade, strut, and base. The assembly process is very simple and the parts connections are handled foolproof.

To remove the fan cover, you have to unscrew the screws that secure the fan cover.
Then rotate the fan cover gently to remove it.
To remove the fan blade, gently unwind the knob holding it too the fan head after which you can separate the fan head, fan blade and the rear cover.
Unscrew the four screws of the fan head to open the shell.
After unscrewing the four screws on the fan head, you can pull out the housing backward to see the motor (black cylindrical section). Four buttons are provided on the fan head housing, including various parameters such as wind speed, swing angle, natural wind, and timing, which can be directly adjusted by the body.
After unscrewing the fixing screws of the rear housing of the motor, the motor can be removed from the housing.

Disassemble the motor head bracket.
You can see the tilting position on the side of the head support, using the same damping principle as the notebook. Because there are additional springs and fastening screws in the shaft, the hinge can stay at any desired angle.
Remove the screws on the shaft to separate the head holder and the damping shaft.
The panel board is hidden inside the head bracket. The head bracket has a high strength, and can effectively protect the electronic control board and the rotating shaft even when subjected to a strong impact, and is more lightweight than the metal material.

The bearing end cap housing mainly covers the stepping motor and the swing headgear assembly which is responsible for controlling the swing head.
The bottom step motor is geared to swing the entire fan head from side to side. The jumper is passed through the center of the gear and it avoids noise interference with other components and prolongs the service life of the jumper. According to official data, the swivel head has passed as many as 600,000 swivel heads tests, making it reliable and durable.

When you use the fan for the first time, you need to use the built-in hex wrench to install the fixing screw under the base. Remove the screw to separate the base and the support rod.

Remove all screws and pry apart the base housing.
The interior of the base includes a power board, and the two sides are respectively connected with a power jack and a Pogo Pin which is connected with the support rod.
The interior of the bottom cover has a honeycomb structure which effectively increases the strength of the base
Three metal weight plates are used to ensure the stability of the fuselage base so that the whole device is not prone to shaking during swinging and blowing. The weight of the entire fan is only 3kg.
The inside of the Pogo Pin is connected using wires so that the power is transmitted through the struts to the electronic control board inside the fan head.
The shell of the power board can also be re-assembled for easy maintenance.
