Brand new retail packaging leaks for the Xiaomi Mi 4C have surfaced once again. The “C” in Mi 4C is believed to stand for “China” meaning this version of the device may be a China exclusive. A little while ago, the Mi 4c appeared on a TENAA certification, detailing, for the most part, the hardware and feature side of the device. With the images of the Mi 4C’s retail packaging published, we can take a good look at what the upcoming device Xiaomi has to offer. First off, starting with the hardware.
The Xiaomi Mi 4C will reportedly pack the 64-bit, Hexa-core Snapdragon 808 Chipset (Dual-Core Cortex A57 + Quad-Core Cortex A53) clocked at 1.8GHz, coupled with the Adreno 430 Graphics core. As for memory and storage, the device will pack 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM. The device’s display will be a 5.0 Inch Full HD display, (1920 x 1080 resolution) with a pixel density of 441 Pixels per inch, which makes the display nice and crisp to the look. It seems Full HD is the sweet spot for both performance/visuals, and battery life.
As for the camera, the device is expected to come with a 13 Megapixel primary camera (presumably a sensor manufactured by Sony) along with a Dual-LED flash, and a 5 Megapixel front-facing camera. The leaked retail packaging also details a non-removable 3000mAh battery to power all this hardware, to ensure things are up and running for as long as possible throughout the day. Other miscellaneous features for the device include a Dual-SIM standby support, as well as the introduction of USB Type-C onto the device, which makes the Mi 4C Xiaomi’s first phone to pack a USB Type-C connector.
For pricing of the device, IHS China Technology researcher Kevin Wang predicted the price of the Mi 4C to be priced at 1199 Yuan on Weibo, which roughly equates to about $188 US. Even though there is no confirmation on the device’s pricing, the pricing is believed to not exceed 1500 Yuan, as the device is a budget alternative to some of Xiaomi’s more high end handsets. The realistic projected price of the device is expected to hover around 1300 Yuan, which equals $200 US, which seems like a more suitable price point.
