Chinese company Xiaomi is well known for pricing its products in the most aggressive manner possible. Xiaomi Mi Pad, the company first ever tablet was already considered to be one of the most affordable large screen solutions on the planet, even after featuring really impressive hardware specifications. However, Xiaomi Mi Pad is about to get even more affordable thanks to the recent price cuts introduced by the company, presenting a much better price/performance ratio to the consumer.
- 16GB model will cost $156.87 USD or 999 Yuan
- 64GB model will cost $203.97 USD or 1,299 Yuan
As for the hardware specifications, Xiaomi Mi Pad still looks like a great product to purchase, despite featuring previous generation hardware. Starting off, the tablet features NVIDIA’s Tegra K1 chipset, which is running a quad-core processor at 2.2GHz. In addition to the powerful processor, the slate also features 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM, a 7.9 inch screen size that gives off a resolution measuring at 2048 by 1536 pixels, and is available to purchase in the 16 or 64GB capacity model.
If the internal memory was not enough for you, then there is always a microSD slot available for you to purchase a storage card and expand your storage even further(up to 128GB). However, before we get all excited for the discounted price of Xiaomi Mi Pad, we have to wonder why the company made such a move? It is because it is finally going to unveil Mi Pad 2, a tablet that the tech universe has been waiting for quite some time now.
According to the specifications, Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 will be running Intel’s 14nm chipset, and will have a screen size that is much larger compared to its predecessor. Looks like we will get to know more about the upcoming tablet as time progresses.
