In order to compare the reliability of the ‘slider’ model, we selected the only ‘slider’ flagships on the market – the Honor Magic 2 and Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. But to understand their actual value, we decided not to compare them with the third slider of the Lenovo Z5 Pro. Instead, we compared them with a genuine flagship in face of the Apple iPhone XS.
We are going to compare these three beasts in three aspects of appearance, performance, and camera. And we believe after this comparison you will get answers to all of your questions and understand which of them suits you best.
Sliding Structure VS Notch Screen
As a whole, the appearance of the Honor Magic 2 and the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 with the ‘slider’ structure is basically the same, but there is a big difference in the details, materials and industrial design style. The principle of ‘sliding cover’ and the actual experience are slightly different. There are differences, and the iPhone XS has nothing in common at all.

We use the Honor Magic 2 and the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 to play a set of ‘NBA2K18’, setting the special effects to the highest. Since the GameBench is not compatible with the iPhone, we have not tested the number of game frames for the iPhone XS.
From the measured results, in terms of game frame rate, the 7nm process technology SoC of the Honor Magic 2 is compared to the 10nm process chip of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 has an obvious performance.
In addition, we measured the NBA2K18 decompression degree and the 15 apps opening speeds of the iPhone XS, Honor Magic 2, and the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. The measured data are as follows:

In terms of battery life, the Honor Magic 2 battery has a 3500mAh capacity, and it is equipped with a 40W safe super-fast charge technology. The charging speed is very fast, and the battery voltage is reduced by 10V to 5V by using the charge pump technology inside the phone. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3’s battery power is 3200mAh and it supports QC 4.0+ fast charge. But in terms of a charger, it comes with only an 18W QC3.0 wired fast charger and a 10W wireless charger. The iPhone XS’s battery life is the weakest among the three phones, and the standard 5V/1A charger can be said to be an ‘old antique’ that has not been updated for many years.
We compared the remaining power of the three phones after the 5-hour heavy endurance test and the amount of power charged in the 30-minute charging test to see the differences.
In the case of full power, we set the screen brightness as well as the volume at 50%. Also, we cleared the background from all running apps. During the test, we were capturing photos, played videos, surfed in the net, played games, listened to music, and read e-books.
As for the charging test, all three phones have % of power. And we started charging them 30 minutes a recorded the data after every 5 minutes.
It can be seen that the Honor Magic 2, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3, and the iPhone XS have 42%, 39%, and 34% of the power after 5 hours of heavy use, and after 30 minutes of charging, the three phones are charged 83%, 46%, and 13%, respectively.
