The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 and its ceramic versions
We will remember that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is the second generation of the Mi MIX family, which boasts a full-size screen and a new generation power. Unlike the standard version, the Mi MIX 2 ceramic white has a unibody case completely designed in ceramic. This means that, at least for the white version, that both the back and the front form a single set. The black ceramic version has four ceramic surfaces, all joined by a metal frame on edge.
Regardless of the design, both devices have a thickness of only 7.7mm, but the Mi MIX 2 white ceramic is a little smaller in length and width concerning the black version (specifically, 1.3mm and 0.9 mm difference respectively)
According to the official presentation, the costs involved in the production of a single body of ceramics are astronomical. Each piece must go through a sintering process of 1400 °C for seven days. It is completed with a process of molding and printing of 240 tons. Each time it ends, the emery head that was used must be reformed and replaced.
Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, remarked very proudly that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 ceramic version represents the highest level of quality in the Smartphones industry.
The high-end design is not the only thing that shines in the Mi MIX 2, since it also has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and 8GB of RAM, being among the most powerful devices currently on the market.
New prices for Xiaomi
In addition to the price reduction of the Mi MIX 2, the company has significantly reduced the cost of a number of terminals, including the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 (1799 Yuan, approximately $284), the Xiaomi Mi 6 of 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM (2099 Yuan ~ $332), the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 (1399 Yuan ~ $221) and the Xiaomi Mi 5X (1199 Yuan ~ $190).
Other Smartphones have experienced a reduction but not so considerable. And the rebates were not only with the phones since there are televisions, laptops and intelligent products for daily life included.
