Xiaomi company officially released of a new Android TV box Xiaomi Mi Box 4 SE. The TV box supports voice control and runs under the Patch Wall operating system. With the help of voice commands, you can control the volume, switch channels (video on demand service), check the weather and so on.
The Xiaomi Mi Box 4 SE will not be compatible with 4K or HDR resolutions. Therefore, it is a version oriented to televisions and full HD “older ” monitors that do not need those features. What it can, is to display images up to 1080p at 60 FPS, decoding both H.264 and H.265 (in this case only 8 bits). As for the specifications, the Mi Box 4 SE comes with a patch will interface, which is similar to the Smart TV interface installed on Xiaomi Mi TVs. This adds many intelligent features to any TV when connected via HDMI or AV. The PatchWall user interface supports voice control, channel switching with DTH connectivity, channel switching, weather checks, and voice commands.
With the Xiaomi Mi Box 4 SE, like the original Mi Box, we can send multimedia content to television through mirroring, which makes it especially useful to have so little internal storage. So let’s start with the internal components, ie the unspecified CPU consisting of four Cortex-A7 cores with the graphics part charged to a Mali-400. Then we find only 1GB of RAM and 4GB internal memory of type eMMC to install the main app and little else.
Xiaomi Mi Box 4 SE supports 1080p video playback, has a WiFi module for a wireless connection, an HDMI port, and a USB port to connect external accessories, such as a hard disk, pen drive, mouse and keyboard. Xiaomi knows that on the external memory it will be possible to install games and other applications as well as to store videos, music, etc.
The new TV box Xiaomi Mi Box 4 SE as we see has a somewhat different design, it seems larger and does not have the line in the middle. It has a Quad Core SoC with CPU cores ARM Cortex-A7 and a GPU Mali-400 MP2 could be an Allwinner H3 or a Rockchip RK3229. Integrated into the board we only have 1GB of DDR3 RAM and 4 GB of eMMc storage memory that surely cannot be extended. A configuration as we see very basic only useful for basic streaming services.
From the software point of view, the Mi Box 4 SE uses the PatchWall system with an artificial intelligence voice assistant. Thanks to it you can control the TV box with voice commands to play videos, change channels, check the weather and much more. Finally, the device supports the screencast to display the smartphone screen directly on the TV.
