We have seen a ton of leaks related to the Xiaomi Mi 7, but according to some fresh rumors and leaks, it looks like the Xiaomi Mi 8 is launching this year on Xiaomi’s 8th Anniversary. There is no official confirmation from the company if the phone will be called Mi 8 or Mi 7 but it is officially confirmed that a high-end flagship smartphone is launching soon at an event in Shenzhen.
There are also some rumors that Xiaomi is going to follow Apple by launching Mi 7 and also a special device to celebrate Xiaomi’s 8th Anniversary. Today, an alleged image was leaked that revealed the front of Xiaomi Mi 8. If the image is legit, we are going to see the same Facial Recognition tech as on the iPhone X.
The image above shows the front panel with a notch on top which has several holes, confirming the previous leak that revealed a Facial Recognition system just like the iPhone X. The bezel on the bottom is bigger as compared to the bezels on other three sides, and this is pretty normal for any phone that doesn’t use a display that is folded from the bottom, just like the iPhone X.
A few days back, an image showing the Facial Recognition System on the Xiaomi Mi 8 leaked out which revealed a similar kind of arrangement as the iPhone X. In fact, there are rumors that Xiaomi is going to use the in-screen fingerprint scanner on the Mi 8.
Today, along with the image of the front panel, the alleged Retail box of Xiaomi Mi 8 also leaked out which reveals a clean box design with ‘8’ printed on the front and ‘Mi’ logo on the top right.
The rumored specifications include Snapdragon 845 processor, 19:9 display, 6/8GB RAM, up to 256GB internal storage, Wireless Charging, no headphone jack, dual cameras and more.
