Before we start testing let’s recall their key features. The Xiaomi Mi 6 comes with a 5.15-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 835 chip, 6GB of RAM, 64/128GB of internal memory, 3350mAh battery. As for the Huawei Honor 9, this model sports a 5.15-inch 1080p screen, Kirin 960 chip, 6GB of RAM, 64/128GB of built-in memory, and 3200mAh battery. Seems, these handsets are packed with identical hardware. But actually, they aren’t. Say, the Xiaomi Mi 6 features a UFS2.1 memory storage, while the Huawei Honor 9 comes with an eMMC5.1. Thus Xiaomi’s flagship should be faster than its competitor.
Let’s test it. The first test that has been held refers to installing/opening the applications. For the same apps set, Xiaomi Mi 6 showed 02:25.3, while the Huawei Honor 9 did the same for 02:26.26. The difference is not that much, but we have to write down the Xiaomi Mi 6 is the winner in the first round.
The second test was held to find out which smartphone provides faster write/read function. Thanks to UFS2.1 the Xiaomi Mi 6 wins the race. It provides w/r speed of 718/207MB/s, while the Huawei Honor 9 does the same in 286/94MB/s. The difference is obvious.
Finally, the phones were tested via Geekbench. The Mi 6 showcased 1935 at single-core, and 6736 at multi-core tests. As for the Huawei Honor 9, its results are less attractive – 1870 at single-core, and 6649 at multi-core. Honestly, no handset can compete with the Xiaomi Mi 6 at multi-core benchmark test.
