Xiaomi Finally Introduces Redmi Note 5 Pro, an iPhone X Inspired Design

Xiaomi today introduced Redmi Note 5 Pro alonside Redmi 5 in India also marking the global release of the 5 Pro. The device has some bump-ups in specs and the design which looks quite similar to the likes of iPhone X. Also, being the first device to come running on Snapdragon 636, the device has a few interesting features too!

So, Xiaomi stated that it worked closely with Qualcomm over the development of the chipset, leading to a noticeable uptick in performance over the Snapdragon 625-powered Redmi Note 5. The phone also features a dual rear camera setup, as well as a 20MP front camera with an LED flash module.

Well, the Chinese giant is even touting software tuning as a key feature as a key differentiator for the front camera, with the Redmi Note 5 Pro also relying on artificial intelligence to automatically tweak settings based on your environment. Well.. AI is pretty heavy in the air!

Coming to the design, the one major change of the Redmi Note 5 Pro is the dual camera sensor at the back. Otherwise, the rest of the design is identical to the standard Redmi Note 5, which is in turn similar to that of the Redmi Note 4. The Redmi Note 4 itself was based on the Redmi Note 3, so we’re now looking at a third year of the same design, and it’s starting to look stale. And that specific dual camera setup change is inspired or copied from Apple’s flagship iPhone X, as I said earlier.

Redmi Note 5 Pro was announced with Face Unlock, making it the first Xiaomi to feature the tech. The Display is a 5.99″ 2K 18:9 Panel and nothing much really changed from the Redmi 5 hardware.
