The Diwali festive season in India ended on November 8, at these parties many retailers offered discounts on their equipment among these Xiaomi. Thanks to this, smart phone sales grew 26%, compared to the same period in 2017.

According to Counterpoint’s research, Amazon and Flipkart had the main role with their online sales events “Flipkart Big Billion Day” and “Amazon Great Indian Festival”. Analysts also point out that some OEM stores such as mi.com , Vivo e-store, and Hi Honor also helped to make online sales increase by 46% .
The main protagonist of the festival was the OEM leader of India, Xiaomi, with 43% of online participation and 14%of offline participation in the respective categories. With this clear the company once again establishes itself as the market leader of India over other brands such as Samsung and Huawei .
Another surprise of the festival was the subsidiary of Oppo , since it achieved a record performance for any new brand in India. It represented 18% of total online sales and 9% of total smartphone sales, jumping directly to third place in general.
Emerging brands are the ones that grow the most.
Counterpoint senior analyst Hanish Bhatia said emerging brands such as Little F1, Asus, Nokia and OnePlus werealso successful in terms of online sales during the festival. While some great of all the life like Apple and its iPhone, did not have a great performance in comparison with these marks.
