Xiaomi refreshed all its sensors operating in the Zigbee standard. New devices appear under the Aqara brand. One of them is the temperature sensor – Xiaomi Aqara Temperature Humidity Sensor, has one new functionality, is it worth changing the old sensor to a new one? Xiaomi Aqara Temperature Humidity Sensor is a tiny device that detects the temperature and humidity in your house, connects to the Xiaomi Multifunctional Gateway (supports the ZigBee standard), and with its help and a help of Mi Home app allows to monitor the performance and dynamics and to notify when the temperature or humidity exceeds the limits adjusted in the settings. Currently, it is on offer on Geekbuying for $11.99. On the other side, Gearbest also offering this Smart Sensor at $ 15.95.
In a series of new products Aqara did not follow the previous Xiaomi sensors, the devices have been redesigned and have a square shape. Despite the creation of a more bent sensor, the dimensions and weight are virtually the same as the round predecessor. In the set, we also get a double-sided tape for sticking the sensor.
The device is powered by the CR2032 battery, it works correctly in the temperature range from -20 to +60 degrees Celsius. The accuracy of measurement in the case of temperature is + -0.3 degrees, humidity + -3%. New in the new Aqara product is a barometer, Xiaomi declares its accuracy at the level of + -120Pa, and the scope of work 30-110KPa.
Xiaomi Aqara Temperature Humidity evaporates in the MiHome application, go to the gate, then add the device and select a square temperature sensor. Exactly the same as with other devices, no problems in the evaporation process. The sensor management interface looks similar to that of the predecessor, the interface has been slightly reduced so that the barometer can be accommodated. Besides, everything looks the same.
The new Xiaomi temperature sensor shows the results practically the same as presented by the old, “round” sensor, the difference they receive is of the order of + -0.1 degrees when measuring temperature, with humidity also.
The Xiaomi Aqara Temperature Humidity Sensor works just as well as its predecessor. The only difference between them is the barometer, the measurement results are the same. If you have an old sensor and you do not need another one, you can wait with the purchase, but if you want to expand your smart system, the new Xiaomi temperature sensor will be a better choice. Xiaomi presented his air conditioning, so far it is not on sale. I’d like to create scenes between air conditioning and temperature sensors.
The Xiaomi Aqara Temperature Humidity Sensor is currently on offer on Geekbuying. You can buy in just $11.99. On the other side, Gearbest also offering this Smart Sensor at $ 15.95. Mind you that there are only a few of them left in stock right now.
