Xiaomi 299 Yuan ($45) Innovative Mechanical Keyboard Unveiled

Xiaomi last week teased what looked like a mechanical keyboard billed for release this week and true to the teaser, the tech giant has unveiled its latest crowdfunding product, the Xiaomi Mi Wyatt Mechanical keyboard which comes with lots of functionalities and at the end adopts a cheap price tag at just 299 Yuan (around $34).

The Xiaomi keyboard comes with 87 alpha numeric keys with a dimension of 358mm x 128mm x 31.6mm and weighs 940g. The keyboard features a 6-layer design and the body is made of aluminum alloy steel with an excellent finish which offers more wear resistance.

The keyboard is built in such a way to reduce fatigue and aid typing with ease, sporting a stand underneath it that propels it up in a 6 degree angle so the hands don’t feel sore or ache when used for long. The keyboard keys are made of translucent poly-carbonate + ABS resin and comes in white color design only. The characters printed on the keys are wear resistant and the caps can be replaced, allowing owners customize it to their preference.


The TTC Red Switches under the keys are said to be able to withstand up to 50 million hits and is suitable for gaming. The mechanical keyboard is also designed to offer fast response time when a key is pressed.

In addition, the Xiaomi mechanical keyboard comes fitted with 3,528 LED lights with a 6-level brightness which means at night you can still work. The cool thing about the LED light is that you can choose the lights t0 be all-white or configure it to display an orange-white hue. The mechanical keyboard also comes with basic keys like the windows button, caps lock key, scroll lock key, and function keys.
