XGIMI, a well-recognized home projector manufacturer in China. Recently, it announced two new models, namely the XGIMI H2 and Z6. As you can guess, both models provide a high performance but cost quite affordable. Plus, they come with the Android operating system and the effect of listening to the Harman Kardon sound from one tiny box. However, the H2 belongs to a higher category, and as the name suggests, it’s the improved version of the XGIMI H1. The fans of this brand are quite satisfied with the performance our protagonist provides, as they think the company has been designed by considering the feedback and downsides of H1. It is now available for purchase at $999.00.
In comparison to the H1, the XGIMI H2 is equipped with an electronic sliding door. As you remember, the previous version comes with a manual sliding door to cover the lens while not in use. This is a more useful approach.
The XGIMI H2 also comes with keystone correction. So you can adjust the display horizontal: ±45 degree and vertical: ±45 degree. Thus, the keystone correction has been improved a lot (horizontal: ±30 degree and vertical: ±35 degree).
The brightness is the most important feature of any projector. The XGIMI H2 supports 1350 ANSI lumens maximum brightness, while its predecessor came with a 900 ANSI lumens. The manufacturer has replaced the Mali-T760 GPU with 1.75GHz quad-core processor, Mstar 6A928 Cortex-A17 of the H1 with the Mali-T820 GPU, and 64-bit Mstar 6A838 Cortex-A53 processor. Another option, the H1 is packed with a 3GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM, while our protagonist comes with a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. So we guess the company has put a smaller memory not to allow the price to exceed $1000.
The enhancements refer to the audio experience as well. If the XGIMI H1 projector possesses 1.5:1 with 1.1X zoom optical lens, the XGIMI H2 projector maintains 1.2:1 with the fixed optical lens.
For many people, their priority while buying any new projector is to check out for the quality of sound output from the same. Well both the H2 and H1 models of the XGIMI are packed with Harman Kardon configured speakers. Streaming music on the XGIMI H2 with the Hi-Fi Harman Kardon stereo is something that you must try if you are looking for a home theater experience. There are extra vibrating plates included with the speakers. It helps them to enhance the quality of bass and deliver you powerful sound effects.
When we know the major changes of the XGIMI H2, let’s see what a performance it provides. This projector supports the native resolution of 1920x1080P. So ultimately the projector can display a more precise output that is 2.25x times clearer than the other 720p projectors.
The XGIMI H2 is a compact projector. You can either carry it while traveling from one place to another or quickly set up the projector anywhere to turn a room into a Home Theater. The H2 multimedia projector is based on cinema grade technology for 3D imaging using the DLP active shutter. Thus, you can turn any 2D video into a 3D.
What we like:
- 1350 Lumen Brightness (really brighter than H1 and H1S)
- Colors (Better colors)
- 4K HDR10 support (we can play all 4K videos now)
- Auto lens cover (No need to hesitate to touch the lens anymore)
- Smart-Keystone – Beta (Actually not works for every time but it works)
What we don’t like:
- HDR videos look very pale, you need to re-adjust color settings (we took the saturation almost 89)
- A built-in player does not support some audio formats (Kodi solves it)
- Bluetooth connection with remote lost sometimes
