Xiaomi seems all set to launch a special smartphone to celebrate the 8th Anniversary, and we are expecting the Xiaomi Mi 8 to launch this year as there are rumors that the company is going to ditch the Mi 7. Yesterday, an alleged image revealed the front panel of Mi 8 and the image also confirmed the notch on top of the display. In case you don’t know, a previously leaked image revealed that Xiaomi is working on the same Facial Recognition tech as on the iPhone X, so there will be a lot of sensors for accurate Face Unlock on the front.
Xiaomi Mi 8 in-screen fingerprint scanner in action
Today, a video has leaked out that shows the Xiaomi Mi 8’s in-screen fingerprint scanner in action. We are not sure if the phone shown in the video is indeed the Mi 8 but the source suggests the same. As seen in the video above, the in-screen fingerprint reader is not the fastest out there, but it is faster than the first generation in-screen fingerprint scanner that was seen on Vivo X20 Plus UD. The video shows the MIUI 9’s home screen, which again confirms that it is an upcoming Xiaomi device for sure.
As per the rumors, the Xiaomi Mi 8 has a 19:9 display, Snapdragon 845 processor, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB ROM, dual rear cameras placed vertically, in-screen fingerprint scanner, Wireless Charging, and more. The launch date is not known, but an event is going to take place in Shenzhen soon where we expect the phone to launch.
