Upcoming Border-less Smartphones

Once the Xiaomi Mi MIX was launched all Chinese smartphone makers understood it’s quite possible to design a great smartphone in China that can win the world. The selling point of this handset is the border-less screen and a number of innovations related with it. So why others can’t try to come in with anything like that. Other than that, border-less smartphones are mainstream now, and any manufacturer that want to make a competition, should offer at least one device for this niche. This statement is true even for top brands. But at the moment we are offering you to take a glance at the upcoming border-less smartphones made by Chinese manufacturers. Though there are too many handsets from Nubia, Allview, and Oppo rumored to release soon, we decided to take a peek at only those models that have appeared on any photos. Thus they have been already ready to launch.

Doogee MIX

The first phone with an abovementioned feature comes our way from Doogee. This handset has been leaked a few times and we know much about it. The Doogee MIX, which has been revealed at the Global Sources Electronic Show (18-21 April), is packed with a 5.5-Inch AMOLED display at a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, Helio P20/Helio X30 chip, 16MP+8MP back camera, 5MP front camera, 4/6GB RAM, 64/128GB ROM, 4050mAh battery, and Android 7.0. Plus, it comes at a resolution of 159.6×82.1×9.5mm. But do not think this beast will cost high – it’s priced at only $259.

Bluboo S1

The Bluboo S1 looks identical to the Doogee MIX. You can even confuse these handsets if not looking at the back, where the logos are printed. It is packed with a 5.5 Inch display at 1920×1080 pixels resolution,  Helio P20 chip, 13MP+2MP back camera, 5MP front camera,  4GB RAM + 64GB ROM memory combination, USB type C, 3500mAh battery, and Android 7.0. Thus these two models are similar even in terms of specs. However, still no info on pricing.

Maze Alpha

The next model has not presented at the event, but we have some promotion posters as well as leaked info on it. The Alpha Maze will sport a 6 Inch display at Full HD resolution, 13MP+13MP back camera, 5MP front camera, 4/6GB RAM + 64/128GB ROM, 4000mAh battery, and Android 7.0 out of box.

Leagoo T-mix

Unlike the previous brand Leagoo showcased its own border-less smartphone at the event. It’s called the Leagoo T-mix and it features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS screen with 2.5D arc glass, MTK67501 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 13MP+2MP rear camera, 13MP front camera, 3GB+32GB, 3000mAh, and Freeme OS based on Android 7.0. Plus, the Leagoo T-mix comes at dimensions of 141.7×75.8×7.9mm.

Umidigi Crystal / Crystal Pro

As for Umidigi (aka Umi), this company has two models with border-less screens. Both devices come with a 5.5-inch display. But if the regular variant provides 720p resolution, the Pro model comes with a Full HD screen. The rest of features include a Helio P20 chip, 13MP+5MP back camera, 5MP front camera, 2GB + 16GB memory combination, and Android 7.0.

IDwell d10 and IDwell d10 Pro

The last models come our way from a less-known brand, IDwell. The IDwell d11 is packed with a 5.5-inch display at a resolution of Full HD, MT6750 chip, 13MP+2MP back camera, 5MP front camera, 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM, USB type C, 3000mAh battery, and Android 7.0 out of box. As for the Pro variant, some of its features are a bit enhanced: 1920×1080 AMOLED screen, 16MP + 2MP back camera, and 8MP front camera. Both models come at dimensions of 152.6×75.6×7.4mm.

As you see, almost all handsets mentioned above come with mid-range features. This means they will have nothing common with the Xiaomi Mi MIX and its successor. But these devices will be a good alternate for those who want a border-less smartphone at an affordable price tag.

Argam Artashyan

Back in 2010, he was dismissed from his position as a lecturer at the university. This made him get another job at his friend’s digital marketing company as a blog writer. After a few years, when he was thinking the article writing is his mission, Google pushed the Panda update and affected the company and websites he was working at. (Un)fortunately and surprisingly, he got an offer to head a large knitting factory. In 2016, he got his Ph.D. and resumed teaching at the University … and writing tech-related articles following his passion.
