Umi Diamond X Unboxing and Box Content
Umi pays attention to design the most. That’s why even the packaging of its products look like a piece of art. The Umi Diamond X comes in a black box. It carries the company’s logo and a standard information about the phone such as the model, IMEI and so on.
The phone itself is put inside the box. But there is also a user manual and a charger with a separate USB cable.
The cable is wrapped accurately. It is 1 meter.
Umi Diamond X Appearance
The phone is equipped with a 5-inch LCD screen at a resolution of 720p. The bezels are neither thin nor bold. The design of the handset is minimalist, but the curved edges make the Umi Diamond X look stylish. On the other hand, there is a large number of customers thinking such a curved design is special for cheap devices. It’s difficult not to agree with them, but it’s the matter of taste.
Anyway, there is a 2MP camera located on the upper left corner, while the proximity sensor as well as the speaker are placed next to it.
Three regular touch buttons are placed below the screen. They have no backlight. This may cause some difficulties when operating in dark conditions.
The back panel is actually made of plastic, but when looking at it for the first time you may think it’s made of either glass or metal. However, when holding it in hands the cheap texture extradites its plastic nature. No covering is present. So the back panel is assumed to be scratched easily. At last, the back panel is removable, but we’ll come to it later.
An 8MP camera with a flash light are located on the upper left corner.
The power button along with the volume rocker is placed on the right hand side.
The microUSB port and 3.5mm audio jack are on the top side.
The speaker and the microphone hole are located on the bottom side. It’s highly recommended to be careful when holding it, as you can close the speaker with a palm and muffle the sound.
Umi Diamond X Ergonomics
The phone comes with a 5-inch display, that’s why it’s very comfortable to hold it in a single hand and operate with it. Though 5.5-inch is a mainstream in China, some 5-inch devices like the Uhans A101 are still popular.
Often the Umi Diamond X is compared to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro. As you can judge from the photo below, they are almost at the same dimensions. But what’s amazing the Redmi Note 3 Pro sports a 5.5-inch display.
The compact housing of the Umi Diamond X should be at taste of many users, but the dimensions of 14.30 x 7.00 x 0.96 cm and weight of 190 grams are a bit confusing.
However, you don’t have to worry about the thickness, as it is at the same size as the iPhone 5SE.
How to first boot the Umi Diamond X
When you get this handset for the first time, do not try to boot it on via pushing the power button. Nothing will happen.

Press the power button to turn the phone on.
