Everything fits perfectly in the box, it is neatly folded and tucked in. Headphones are not included in the packaging, but that is common these days. We told you that Ulefone Future is unique in many ways, and this category is what we were talking about a few rows above. Ulefone Future is one of the best-looking devices we have seen in years. It resembles a few flagship phones from other companies but nothing too similar. It is one of the few devices in the world that has almost bezel-less screen with curved edges. When you combine that kind of screen with a housing made from a single piece of titanium aluminum alloy you get a real work of art. Whether you get this device in silver (or space gray as Ulefone called it) or golden color, you will definitely admire its beauty.
On the front side of the device, there is a stunning curved 5.5-Inch display with a front facing camera, earpiece and a bunch of sensors above it. There are no capacitive, only on-screen buttons.
Back side houses main camera with dual tone LED flash in the upper right corner. There is Ulefone logo in the middle and visible antenna stripes on top and bottom part of the back.
There are volume and lower buttons on the right side as well as a fast fingerprint scanner.
On the upper part of the left side, there is a dual-SIM tray and/or Micro SD expansion slot.
The headphone jack is located on the left side of the top of the Ulefone Future. On the bottom of the device, there is a USB Type-C port and speakers on each side of it.
Because of the materials used for the build, the device is quite heavy with the weight of 185gr, but that only adds to a durable build quality. The phone feels great in the hand and doesn’t seem to be too big. It is fairly thin with its 8.6mm width and looks gorgeous. Ulefone Future definitely looks like some premium piece of technology from a not too distant future.
Ulefone Future Display
The device has curved, and bezel-less 5.5-Inch FULL HD screen made with in-cell LTPS technology. Colors are pleasant and saturated enough and the viewing angles are great too. At first, we were frightened that we would accidentally press the screen on the sides and that it will react to each touch. It turned out that extra precautions have been taken, the screen is incredibly responsive and that sort of situations simply never happen.
The screen is crisp and bright enough for comfortable web surfing, movie watching or playing a game. Content on the screen is visible even in bright outdoor light. The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 comes on top of the display for extra protection from scratching, and you even get a foil for additional screen protecting.
Processor and RAM
Ulefone Future is equipped with MediaTek’s 64-bit Helio P10 processor with eight cores clocked at 2GHz. For graphical processing tasks, Mali-T860 is in charge. When you add 4GB of fast RAM in the mix, you get a very potent mid-range device with excellent multitasking capabilities. Some may ask why not Snapdragon 650 or 652 and the answer is definitive, because of the price. Yes, you would get a much powerful device, but it would cost a lot more.
In everyday tasks, Ulefone Future excels, whether it is web browsing, social media or watching an online video. For some more demanding tasks like graphic intensive games and video editing, the device works quite as well. It does heat up a bit when performing tasks like these, but that is understandable. Of course, the SOC is not on par with Helio X20, X25, or Snapdragons equivalent but it performs more than good for the vast majority of users.
Ulefone Future is graced with a Samsung-made primary camera with the resolution of 16-Megapixel. It has bright f/2.0 aperture and dual-tone LED flash. These parameters and Samsung’s ISOCELL sensor ensure good picture quality in all lighting situations. Pictures tend to be saturated and offer plenty of details with a minimal amount of noise. In theory, image quality should be great in low light but that, sadly, is not the case. Low light shots tend to be shy on details and offer a lot of noise. When you turn the flash on that helps a lot but only for subjects that are close. Dual-tone LED flash works great, and items look very natural when shot with this camera and not too bright like with the other flashes. Thanks to the phase detection autofocus you can focus on the subject in a very short time and capture some great images. There are several shooting modes like panorama, noise reduction, antishake, voice activation, face and smile detection, HDR and many others.

Front facing camera has the resolution of 5-Megapixel, and it is ideal for selfies and conference calls.
Unfortunately, video shooting capabilities are limited to a 1080p resolution which is pretty standard these days. Nevertheless, videos are crisp and full of details.
Ulefone Future has 32GB of storage, and that roughly translates to somewhere around 25GB of free storage after the initial setup process.
That is an enormous amount of storage all by itself, and you can fill it up with multimedia or your favorite apps and games. If you enjoy music or latest game titles, you will fill up that free space in no time. Luckily, you can expand the storage with up to additional 128GB via micro SD card and transform your device into a real multimedia monster.
Operating System (OS)
Ulefone Future comes with the latest and greatest Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The most recent rendition of Android OS comes with several exciting features like Google now on tap and Doze mode, which reduces CPU speed while the screen is off and thus significantly improves battery life.
You can install all the latest games and apps from the Google Play store as well as other Android stores of your choosing.
In everyday usage Ulefone Future ran really well on Marshmallow, there were no bugs, lags or slowdowns of any kind.
From the connectivity point of view, Ulefone Future is a crown jewel as well. It offers dual SIM, dual standby with up to LTE networks. Both SIM cards can be used simultaneously and in that case, only one can use LTE while the other uses GSM connectivity. In case you want to preserve battery, or you don’t have an unlimited data plan, you can always browse the web with the usage of the Wi-Fi modem in this device. Wi-Fi networks supported are 802.11 b/g/n.
Ulefone Future has GPS and A-GPS on board, and it will help you locate your position anywhere on the planet with the usage of Google maps or any other maps. Bluetooth version is 4.0, and it offers faster transfers speed and better connectivity while saving the battery. Micro USB Type-C reversible connector is located on the bottom and it is used for faster transfer rates and quicker charging of the battery.
The networks supported are: GSM: 850/900/1800 (band5,band8,band3)
WCDMA: 900/2100 (band8,band1)
FDD-LTE: 800/1800/2100/2600 (band20,band3,band1,band7)
TDD-LTE: 2300 (Band40)
Ulefone Future Battery Life
Speaking of battery, Ulefone Future comes with a non-removable 3000mAh lithium-ion Sony-made battery. Not only that this battery is quite large, but processing algorithms save it even more. On our testing unit battery life was splendid. We never succeeded in discharging the battery in less than a day and a half, and that is remarkable. Even if you are an ultimate power user with the Smart Power-saving mode and fast charger, you’ll have no worries. Fast charging technology is so good that you can charge the phone from 0 to 100% in an hour which is impressive.
Ulefone Future has an excellent codec support out of the box as well as some great features like USB OTG and off-screen gestures.
It also has several sensors embedded in it, like gyro sensor, gravity sensor, ambient light and hall effect sensor.
The most important additional feature of this remarkable device is a fingerprint scanner for enhanced security. It offers extremely fast unlocking speeds, and it is very reliable. You can say that it is as fast, if not faster, as iPhone’s fingerprint sensor.
