Note: Do not be surprised not to see many awesome models from the 1000-yuan category in this list. Say, we don’t include the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X or Huawei Honor V9 Play. This is list is mainly based on GearBest’s promo page for the bestselling Android smartphones in the US. That’s why we have all reasons to think the phones in this list reflect the reality. If you think any smartphone lacks from the list, let us know, please.
Umidigi Z1 Pro
This is the most expensive model in this list, but it’s also one of the best in terms of design and hardware. We know Umi has been rebranded recently and now its products carry a title of Umidigi. The Umi Z had been the last smartphone before rebranding. However, one of the first attempts of the new brand wasn’t that successful. The Umidigi Z Pro came with good features but it was priced at the way higher tag than the Xiaomi Redmi Pro and Huawei Honor 8 sporting identical features. It turns out the company has taken all those remarks seriously and enhanced this model fixing bugs found on the previous one. As a result, it has its representative in the top 10 Android smartphones under-$200.
The Umidigi Z1 Pro is considered to be one of the thinnest smartphones in the market. But it sports a large-capacity battery as well. The phone comes with a thickness of 6.95mm and there is a 4000mAh battery under the hood. This simply means the battery size doesn’t affect the thickness and the overall appearance. However, this is a great move forward for the company itself, as its previous Z line models come with a thickness of 9.8mm. The Umigidi Z1 has a thickness of 8.2mm, and now this one comes with the slimmest look.
The rest of features are impressive as well. The Umidigi Z1 Pro sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED Full HD a 2.5D arc glass, Corning Gorilla Glass 4, and color saturation of 94%. The hardware list includes a MediaTek MTK6757 octa-core chip clocked at 2.3GHz based on a 16nm process node, whopping 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 64GB of eMMC flash memory expandable up to 256GB, 5MP front camera, 13+5MP dual-camera on the back paired with a quad-led flash and supporting 4K video recording, front-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a battery supporting PE+ fast charge technology. The latter allows users to charge the phone fully in only 100 minutes. But you can also charge it for 30 minutes and get a 1 day of normal use. Of course, the charging is implemented via the USB Type-C.
As you see, this model is very close to the super-mid-range category leady by the devices such as the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 and Vivo X20. That’s why it’s priced a bit higher. But you can check out our deals section to get the cheapest offers.

Check out the Ulefone T1 Deal.
This company is specialized in making mid-range and low-end smartphones with great performance, stylish look, and affordable price. The Ulefone T1 corresponds to all of them. That’s why it’s considered as the best creation of the manufacturer till the date. It has been made to compete with the Vernee Mars Pro, which is very popular in the mid-range market. By the way, the manufacturer likes to compare its flagship with the OnePlus 5.
Undoubtedly, the Ulefone T1’s selling point is its appearance that uses an all-metal unibody design. The back and the front come with a 2.5D curvature. But the front panel also uses a Gorilla Glass 3 to protect the screen from scratches. The screen has received an excellent oleophobic coating. So no fingerprints will be left on the display.
The Ulefone T1 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS screen with a pixel density of 401ppi, a contrast ratio of 1400:1, and 95% NTSC. There is also a MediaTek Helio P25 chip (the closest rival to the Snapdragon 625) that uses 16nm process node, and it is paired with an ARM Mali-T880 MP2 GPU clocked at 1GHz, 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal memory. The rest of features include a 3680mAh battery supporting MediaTek’s PE+ 2.0 fast charging technology (it will fully charge in an hour and a half), 8MP (interpolated to 13MP) front camera, 16MP+5MP dual-camera on the back, USB Type-C port, and Android 7.0 out of the box.
As you see, almost everything is great on this phone. Fairly, the Ulefone T1 can be considered as one of the best options in the super mid-range market. That’s why it is on the list but the phone is a bit overpriced.

The much anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8 clone has come. It’s dubbed the Homtom S8. The Chinese company’s terminal decided to go 18: 9 in the ratio of its screen and offer new possibilities to lovers of Samsung Galaxy S8 who do not want to spend $800 on a smartphone. However, this is a replica, which means it will look identical to the original model, but the hardware under the hood will differ a lot.
The Homtom S8 sports a 5.7-inch screen but the resolution is only HD. There is also a MediaTek MT6750T processor running at a 1.5GHz frequency and the 4GB of RAM promising a smooth use for small tasks and the 64GB of internal memory. The Homtom S8 runs Android 7.0 Nougat, which means that its 3400mAh battery should arrive and remain for a day of normal use.
Although in the front, the phone is very similar to the Galaxy S8, it differs in the back. The Homtom S8 provides a dual-camera experience with two sensors ready to make the bokeh effect (blurred behind the subject).
The great advantage of this smartphone is, in fact, its price. The new Homtom S8 has a value of $159.99. So it’s the worthy member of the top 10 Android smartphones under-$200.

Check out Doogee BL5000 Deal.
When a smartphone comes with a highlighted selling point, it is going to beat all of its competitors on its way. Those who are familiar with the Doogee BL5000 know this device features a screen the way better than the Xiaomi Mi 6 and iPhone 6. So when talking about this device, the first thing we should focus on is the screen.
Read: DOOGEE BL5000: 650nits Brightness Display, better than Mi 6 & iPhone 6!
It turns out the BL5000 carries a magnificent display, with a high resolution and almost the highest brightness for now. According to Doogee, the BL5000 comes with a 5.5-inch IPS display. It is a common size in smartphones now, since the big display is always in need when people are used to watching movies or playing games with phones. Moreover, seems the Full HD resolution it comes with is not surprising. But even a zoom in 5 times, pictures showed in BL5000 keeps smooth and clear. So you can feel the difference between Doogee BL5000 and other products at first sight when you hold it.
We know there are many smartphones with a 2K screen in the market, but the company has not to apply the higher resolution. The first and most essential reason is that the difference between the two resolutions is almost invisible to eyes. And the 2k resolution would cause huge energy consumption, which is not user-friendly at all.
Well, all the aforementioned inferences are clear as day. But what’s the trick in this display? It turns out the Doogee BL5000 comes with an ultra-high brightness. DOOGEE claims to apply 650nit brightness in BL5000, higher than iPhone 6 (550 nits) and Xiaomi Mi 6 (600 nits). The biggest advantage of high brightness is the ability to adapt to different environments. Even when it’s under direct sunlight, the BL5000 can provide clear viewing experience. This is not only beautiful but also eye-protective. Applying the blue ray adjustment technology, it stays soft and gentle with high intensity. The phone also comes with a self-adaptive brightness adjustment changing the brightness from 1 nit to 650 nits.
As for the rest of features, the Doogee BL5000 is packed with a large capacity battery of 5050mAh (as the name suggests), MediaTek MTK6750T octa-core chip, 4+64GB memory combination, 8MP front camera with soft light, 13MP dual-camera, fingerprint scanner under the home button, and it uses an octa-curved design.
If you care of your eyes, this is the best option in our list for only $149.99.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A
Check out the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A deal.
Finally, we see a Xiaomi phone in this list. This handset has been announced just recently. Though it belongs to the low-end category, and it could be ignored by many customers, this handset is very popular due to one feature. This is the cheapest selfie-centric smartphone coming our way from a top brand. Of course, there are too many options such as the Oppo R11 or the Meitu T8, they cost much. As for the Redmi Note 5A, this handset is priced at only 899 yuan ($135).
The phone is equipped with a Snapdragon 435 chip, which is considered to be one of the best options in the low-end market because devices from this niche usually sport a MediaTek chip. However, Xiaomi is in a deep cooperation with Qualcomm, and almost all of its smartphones sport Snapdragon family SoCs. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A is no exception. Apart from the chip, it comes with a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Thus this phone features larger memory options than many other devices from the same niche. There is also a 5.5-inch 720p resolution screen, 3080mAh battery, 13MP back camera and as I said a 16MP front camera. At last, the Redmi Note 5A supports 4G LTE.

LeEco Le S3
Check out the LeEco Le S3 deal.
LeTV has always been among the best Chinese smartphone brands. It has managed to sell up to 20 million units in 2016. This is an amazing number, and the company reached it due not only domestic sales. Moreover, LeEco family smartphones are beloved very much abroad. The LeEco Le Pro 3 is among the best Chinese mid-range phones, while the LeEco Le S3 is considered to be one of the best low-costing smartphones in the globe. Though the LeEco Le S3 belongs to the category of cheap smartphones, its specs list is quite impressive. Look, it is packed with a 5.5-inch Full HD screen with no borders. Probably, it can be considered as the selling points of this handset.
Apart of this, the LeEco Le S3 sports a MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core chip clocked at 2.3GHz. This sounds quite attractive. That’s why it can be considered as the phone’s second selling point. It is also paired with a Mali T880 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is an 8MP camera on the front, while the main shooter comes with a 16MP lens. The connectivity and battery options leave much to be desired – 4G LTE support and 3000mAh capacity.
Currently, the LeEco Le S3 is actively promoted and you can take your hands on it for only $129.99.
Check out the Vernee M5 deal.
Like Xiaomi, Vernee provides the best price over performance smartphones. Recently, the company has launched Vernee M5 designed for customers with a tight budget. It’s way cheaper than other mid-end smartphones such as Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
Vernee M5 is forged from aluminum alloy and is robust than any other Vernee smartphone. Generally, smartphones from this brand have amazing built quality. The Vernee M5 is no exception. The company terms the design as ‘frost metal’ as the metallic color glitters in the viewer’s eye. Moreover, the 2.5D glass provides a curved screen look and enhances the beauty of the phone.
The Vernee M5 is packed with a MediaTek MT6750 chip, which is also paired with a generous 4GB RAM and 64GB storage (support TF card up to 128GB). This handset is considered to be the cheapest 4GB RAM smartphone. The rest of features include a 3300mAh battery, 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 720p, fingerprint reader which unlocks in 0.1 seconds, 13MP camera with f/2.0 aperture on the back, 8MP shooter on the front, and it runs on Android 7.0.
The Vernee M5 is included in the top 10 Android smartphones under-$200 thanks to the 4GB RAM mainly.
This is a new brand specializing in making rugged smartphones. We have already reviewed two great handsets from its portfolio, the Nomu S20 and S30. But we haven’t managed to take a look at the Nomu S10. With IP68 waterproof certificate, solid design and a whopping 5000mAh battery, the Nomu S10 is not aimed at someone working a run-of-the-mill office job.
Upon holding the phone, you will immediately notice its ruggedness. This is a heavy-duty phone, aimed at people who work in harsh environments, where a power outlet is not available for hours and/or water is a serious concern. So it’s expected to see a Gorilla Glass 3 screen. Other than that, the whole device is made of some kind of rubberized plastic. While many phones these days opt for metal and glass casings that can make the phone slippery, the Nomu S10 is almost impossible to drop by accident under normal conditions.
As for features, the Nomu S10 comes with a 5-inch Sharp IGZO screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The screen technology does a decent job under normal conditions and you can perform your tasks without your eyeballs bleeding. There is also a MediaTek MTK6737 quad-core processor paired with a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. This phone is not good at camera performance, as it sports only a 13MP rear camera as well as an 8MP front shooter. But it’s sufficient for capturing the most important moments.
Well, the selling points of this handset are not only the ruggedness but the battery as well. The Nomu S10 sports a 5000mAh battery. But it comes with no fast charge technology, so the charging takes up to 4 hours.
Now we understand this phone is in the top 10 Android smartphones under-$200 as one of the best and cheapest options for those who are looking for a durable smartphone ready to work in any condition.
This is the only smartphone in the top 10 Android smartphones under-$200 coming with up to 4 camera sensors. As you understand, this is the selling point of the Oukitel U22. But it’s also the cheapest phone in this list. The phone is priced at $59.99 only. This simply means the manufacturer has saved in many aspects. Let’s find out where it was able to ‘cut’ to come in with such a cheap phone.
The Oukitel U22 sports a 5.5-inch 720p resolution IPS screen, MediaTek MTK6580A quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of ROM, 2700mAh battery, and it runs on Android 7.0. As you see, the company has packed this stylish phone with a very low-end SoC. The chip doesn’t allow us to hope for a smooth performance, but there are two dual-cameras with 8+2MP sensors on the back and 5+2MP sensors on the front. Thus the processor, as well as the software, should be enough powerful to face the challenge.
All these phones are included in the top 10 Android smartphones under-$200 not accidentally. Moreover, they are beloved and accepted in the US market due to at least one selling point. In this sense, the Umidigi Z1 Pro is the cheapest thinnest smartphone; the Ulefone T1 is the cheapest super mid-range smartphone; the Bluboo S1 is the cheapest full-screen smartphone (and the cheapest Mi MIX alternative); the Homtom S8 is the cheapest Samsung Galaxy S8-like smartphone; the Doogee BL5000 is the cheapest smartphone with the brightest screen; the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A is the cheapest selfie-centric smartphone; the LeEco Le S3 is the cheapest mid-range smartphone; the Vernee M5 is the cheapest 4GB RAM smartphone; the Nomu S10 is the cheapest rugged smartphone; and finally, the Oukitel U22 is the cheapest quad-camera smartphone.
