In spite of being one of Samsung’s best smartphones to date, the Galaxy Note 5 left a few people disappointed with its move to a smaller front camera, MTK6735 64bit Quad Core, Dual-Sim, OTG and HotKnot.
Cabot may not be the No. 1 manufacturer you think of when it comes to choosing a right smartphone but this small Chinese company wants to draw some attention by designing some cool looking phones. The manufacturer managed to surprise us with a good build quality and great choice of materials in the past (e.g. Cubox X9) and this time around they have produced another nicely designed phone – Cubox X15.
First of all, Cubot advertises this device as a bezel-less phone, which is a trend that we’ve seeing from Chinese manufacturers for a while. Well, it is not truly bezel-less but it does not have physical borders and 5.5? 1080P 2.5D display, which adds some great looks to the design.
Cubot X15 is now stepping in to fill the void left by the Note by introducing the 5.5-inch FHD IPS LCD display, a smartphone with 8 MP front camera, MTK6735 64bit Quad Core, Dual-Sim, OTG, Micro SD expansion and HotKnot.
The rear-facing camera of Cubot X15 is a 16-megapixel DW9714 image sensor with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 5p lenses and auto focus alongside an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with 4p lenses and f/2.0 aperture. Both front and rear-facing cameras feature CMOS image sensor for better image quality. The device is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor based on Cortex A53 as well as Mali T720 GPU and 2GB of RAM memory. The internal storage of Cubot X15 is 16GB and there is a microSD slot for further storage expansion.
The very first impression about the design of this phone is that it is entirely made of metal . Well, it may not be true as the backplate is a plastic one with some metallic elements in it but the frame and the buttons are made of quality CNC metal alloy.
Other notable features of Cubot X15 are HotKnot, USB OTG, multiple sensors (Proximity Sensor, Gravity Sensor and Ambient Light Sensor), 3.5mm audio jack, microUSB port, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi.
The Cubot X15 smartphone supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz, WCDMA 900/1900/2100MHz and FDD-LTE 800/1800/2100/2600MHz of network bands. The device supports maximum download speed on data of 150Mbps and maximum upload speed on data of 50Mbps due to its LTE support. Cubot X15 is a dual SIM smartphone and has two SIM slots (nano + micro).
The Cubot company are also planning to organize after sale service in which they would focus in Europe soon. Besides there would also be a bonus sale of 100pcs of Cubot X15 smartphone for a lower price of $79.99 as from August 11th, 2015. Then a new price of $105.38 would set in.
Big phones deserve big batteries
The biggest shortcoming of the Cubot X15, though, is the smaller battery of 2,750mAh battery, The low Screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 (FHD). Cubot X15 is available in white and champagne gold and priced at about USD 169.99 on several online stores.
