In Mobile World Congress 2015, TCL launched their new budget phone, The TCL Idol 3, known as the world’s first reverse call, the phone has now been officially launched in the country and will be on sale for the price of 1799 yuan. Currently TCL is releasing the Idol 3 with 3 colours, Tyrant gold, elegant silver and sky gray.
The biggest highlight of the phone is that the with the help of motion detectors, the phone’s whole screen as well as microphone and speakers flip making it world’s first flip phone. The TCL Idol 3 is the only commercially available phone which supports 180-degree reversal of the phone even in calls. In addition, the phone also supports front camera eye pattern to unlock.
Phone looks quite satisfactory, With the thickness of 7.4mm and weight of 140.7g the phone isn’t that bulky. The TCL Idol 3 features dual speakers by JBL similar to what HTC has to offer.
Talking about the Specifications of the phone, TCL Idol 3 has a 5.5-inch 1080p display, equipped with 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB memory and 16GB internal storage. The TCL Idol 3 is running the latest android 5.0 Lollipop. It also has a Built-In 2910mAh battery with 4G support. The Idol 3 also features dual SIm which let users pop in Sims of two different networks.
Although the phone has great specifications and with the flip phone feature, the phone looks more promising but, the price of 1799 yuan/ 280$ seem to be too high seeing the competitors like Xiaomi, Huawei and Meizu which has similar spec phones at a lower price, and also has higher brand awareness.
