The Chinese blog MyDrivers always surprises us with the latest news and they are able to have accurate information in less time, in addition, they have the possibility to test the devices before than others. However, its language does not allow us to know all the details as we would like. For this reason, today we will share a little review they did about the performance of the Redmi Note 7 camera. Do not miss it!
Redmi Note 7 Camera – Excellent performance in various lighting conditions
After becoming an independent brand, Redmi surprised us with the launch of the Redmi Note 7. The best thing of all is that this terminal comes with a 48MP sensor. Although it is true that in a previous note we made it clear that this is not 100% of 48MP but that it is of 12MP with the capacity to interpolate to 48MP, we should not detract from it. The main camera is equipped with a Samsung ISOCELL GM1 ultra clear sensor with a size of 1/2 inch.
The Samsung GM1 sensor also adopts Quad Bayer, which allows combining 4 pixels of 0.8 ?m in a pixel technology of 1 in 4. A large pixel of 1.6 ?m (becomes 12MP) increases the amount of light entering the camera.
Of course, all this may sound very good but the samples are still the determining factor to consider when we talk about the quality of the Redmi Note 7 image. Do not wait anymore, take a look at the real photos.
Comparison 12MP – 48MP
We must take into account that the Samsung GM1 sensor comes with limitations, it is sometimes necessary to implement the professional mode when want to use the 48MP sensor. And when the 12 MP sensor is used, the IA mode should be used without HDR. To make it better understood, two photographs of the same object were taken.
Under the 48MP sensor, the photo of the giant Starbucks cup is clear, while it becomes slightly faint when using the 12MP sensor. That shows that the 48MP sensor gives more attention to details. Pixel ranges are reproduced when images are captured in low light conditions. By combining raw data from 4 pixels into 1, the effective output captured a more amount of light, while reducing the noise generated.
Making a slightly hasty conclusion, we could say that the Redmi Note 7 has the best camera in its price range, which is around 1000 yuan. Both the night and daytime shots are impressive. Also, AI mode is quite easy to use; when the scene is detected to be backlit, the “Backlight” and “Sketch” shooting options will appear automatically. Even when a silhouette is photographed, the backlight and multiframe will be synthesized to ensure that the silhouette effect is captured.
