One of the mobiles that has given much to talk about the last weeks has been the Mi 9, because it is the new Xiaomi’s flagship and is also a device that will feature the new Snapdragon 855 processor, making it the first mobile of this company in using it. This has made the fans very happy, and in response, the general manager of the Redmi brand, Lu Weibing, has made a publication in his official Weibo account in which he issued a statement saying that the brand is also working on a mobile with a Snapdragon 855 processor.
Redmi information about the Snapdragon 855 processor
It is well known that exclusively the devices under the name of Xiaomi used the Snapdragon 800 series processors; so that one of these SoCs has never been seen in the terminals of the previously Redmi sub-brand, nor they did not even have Snapdragon 700 processors. However, because Redmi now became an independent brand, which launched a phone that has been a total sales success, getting more than 1 million units in just half a month, it is interesting to think what they could reach if a mobile with a Snapdragon 855 processor is launched.
Lei Jun declared something quite interesting, and that is that he said that the Mi 9 would be the first device with this processor. Of course, we have to take into account that only Xiaomi has this series of chips. In turn, Wang Teng, Xiaomi’s product manager, said that at least within two months, there would not be Chinese manufacturers that can bring a mobile phone with a Snapdragon 855 processor to the market. Many people started saying that it would be a monopolization of the market and when the former partner of the Xiaomi Industry Investment Department, Pan Jiutang, was asked about the matter, he said that talking about monopolization is exaggerated, that Xiaomi had simply gotten an “empty window” with this processor in China.
