Redmi lands India with its latest affordable smartphone, the Redmi 8A Dual, on February 11. It is the slight upgrade over the recent edition Redmi 8A, which arrived India around four months ago. As the name indicates, the latest smartphone features the dual cameras on the back instead of a single shooter like on the regular variant. Besides imaging hardware, there is no other significant difference between the two.
Redmi introduced the Redmi 8A smartphone as a rival to the recently launched Realme C3 for Indian audience. Now the upgraded edition comes with additional utilities to enhance user experience within the budget. It supports inbuilt VoWIFI and VoLTE technologies to withstand the Realme model in the Indian market.
Redmi 8A Dual Smartphone Specifications
As per the specification chart, the Redmi 8A Dual phone offers the Android 9 Pie. Along with the MIUI 11 skin on top. The front side hosts a 6.22” HD+ display in the waterdrop notch style. It provides 1520x720p resolution as well as 19:9 aspect ratio to draw a good visual experience. For additional protection, you will also find the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer on top.
When it comes to under the hood, the Redmi 8A Dual installs the Snapdragon 439 SoC. Which is further adjoined with the 3GB RAM. The storage options are 2GB/32GB and 3GB/32GB. Similarly, the photography wing configures the dual cameras (13MP + 2MP) on the backside along with the 8MP shooter on the face side. The device also acknowledges the AI Portrait mode and AI Scene Detection mode.
In other specs, the handset covers Bluetooth, WIFI, 3.5mmm jack, GPS, Type-C port, multiple sensors, 5000 mAh battery, face unlocking, and some others.
For pricing, the Redmi 8A Dual 2GB/32GB variant is priced at INR 6,499, whereas the 3GB/32GB will cost you INR 6,999.
