We’ve come a long way from the very first wristwatch that was given to Queen Elisabeth I of England by Robert Dudley in 1571. Back in the day, it was the most exclusive gift and today everyone has a watch. The technology has progressed heavily and today we even have miniature smartphones in the form of watches. Podoor PW308S is exactly that, smart-device that serves for all means of communication and you wear it on your wrist. If this tickled your imagination a little bit and you wish to see how this unique device performs in our tests, read the rest of our Podoor PW308S smartwatch review.
Before we go any further with our review, please take a moment to check out thePodoor PW308S specifications:

The device comes sealed in the lovely black box where everything is fitted perfectly inside. The box contains the watch, micro USB cable, charging case, a detailed user manual as well as a small screwdriver so you can unscrew the watch and fit the SIM inside. Nothing extraordinary but it feels like a really nice package overall. It looks like the company has put a lot of effort in the box itself.

Design and Build quality
Podoor PW308S comes in three colors black, white and champagne and every one of them has its charm. It is not the smallest device on the market, but it isn’t as big as you would imagine. It is a bit thick so we wouldn’t recommend it to people with tiny wrists. For the people that don’t have small wrists, the watch fits very well and offers a dose of elegance because of its leather straps. The straps are user replaceable, of course, and if you don’t like the color you can buy an additional pair or two. Podoor PW308S is robust, but it’s crafted with precision, and it feels very solid indeed. On the front of the device, there is 1.54-Inch display with relatively large bezels around it. The back side of the smartwatch houses pins for connection with the charging dock and a speaker. Android navigation buttons (“home” and “back”) and camera are located on the right side of the device. The device doesn’t offer an IP protection, but you don’t have to worry if you splash your device while you wash your hands or something like that. The device has an excellent build quality overall and offers a classy design.

Podoor PW308S Display
The device is equipped with 1.54-Inch IPS display with the resolution of 240×240. It isn’t necessarily bad because a couple of years of ago some smartphones offered the same resolution on slightly bigger screens. Browsing web pages, playing games and enjoying multimedia can be tricky on a display of this size but don’t forget this is a watch that we’re talking about here. The screen is bright enough, and you should have no problem of checking the time or viewing the e-mail on a sunny day. The display is not resistant to impacts and scratches so be extra careful when handling the device.
Processor and RAM
It feels very strange to say that but considering its size Podoor PW308S is a very capable little device. It sports a MediaTek’s MT6572 Dual-Core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz and Mali-400MP GPU in charge of graphical tasks. 1GB of RAM is on board for better multitasking capabilities. With this amount of power, you will be able to use a vast number of apps and some games as well. The real question is whether it makes sense of playing games and surf the web on such a tiny display.
Podoor PW308S has a 5-Megapixel camera sensor. The quality of captured images is not very good, but we didn’t expect anything extraordinary out of a smartwatch anyway. Having a camera on your wrist can be a very good thing even if the quality of the photos is not the greatest. You can capture every significant moment in your life and thus save it from oblivion.
Podoor PW308S offers 8GB of internal storage. Storage expansion via micro SD cards is not supported so you will have to deal with 8GB or less. Fear not, because this amount of storage will be enough for plenty of apps and games.
Operating System (OS)
The device runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat specially designed for such a small screen. It isn’t the latest and the greatest Android OS version, but you will be able to use it on a daily basis for several years. You can sync the watch with your Android or iOS device and get notifications on it or control you smartphone camera from the device. Google Play store is supported, and you can install a large number of apps and games that are specially designed for such display.
Podoor PW308S supports SIM cards, so it is definitely more than just a watch. You can call people and use apps such as WhatsApp, Viber, and Telegram. It supports up to 3G networks, and it is unlocked worldwide. If you don’t have an unlimited data plan and want to conserve a battery you can stay online with built-in Wi-Fi modem. 802.11 b/g protocols are supported so you won’t have problems connecting. Bluetooth version 3.0 (a bit outdated, since 4.0 is the standaard today) is here as well, and you can use it to connect wireless headphones or speakers with your device as well as connect your smartwatch with your smartphone. GPS is supported, and it can be an excellent tool for outdoor enthusiasts because you can use it pinpoint your location anywhere in the world with the use of Google maps.
Network type: GSM+WCDMA
Frequency: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz WCDMA 2100MHz
Podoor PW308S Battery life
The device is equipped with a 600mAh lithium-ion battery. The device can be used for more than a day without the need to put it on a charger. If you are a power user, you will have to carry a charger with you because the battery drains a lot faster when you play games and use the device as a regular smartphone. Battery life isn’t amongst the best out there, but we guess everything has its price.
Podoor PW308S offers some great additional features like gravity sensor and compass that can come in handy on you outdoor adventures.
