OPPO R15 Launching on March 31, Official Poster Reveals

OPPO R15 has kept the rumour mill abuzz for several weeks running now and we have even seen official posters and videos of the device but no launch date. Well, until now because OPPO has officially revealed that the R15 will be launched on March 31 at 20.00 UTC+8. The launch event will be hosted on Zhejiang Satellite TV and perhaps beamed live on the internet.OPPO R15

OPPO is expected to launch two versions of the R15, a standard edition and aDream Mirror Edition. According to earlier leaks, both models are expected to have the same 6.28-inch display. The models will also come with a Super Vision display which will account for up to 90% of the entire screen and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The bezels at the sides are narrow with a thickness of just 1.78mm. The OPPO R15 models will also have a display resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels which is an FHD+ resolution but takes into account the notch which cut into the display at the top edge. The display has been confirmed to have a notch similar to that of the iPhone X and it houses the front speakers and front camera.  Talking about the camera, the R15 will pack a dual camera sensor setup at the back of which the main sensor is a new generation Sony IMX519 sensor. The camera samples we have seen shows that both the front and rear cameras will be superbly powerful. The cameras also come with AI for optimized captures.OPPO R15

According to earlier rumours, the OPPO R15 and R15 Dream Mirror Edition will come with two different processor. The R15 will utilise a MediaTek Helio P60 chipset while the Dream Mirror edition will pack a Snapdragon 660 chipset. Both processors will pair up with 6GB of RAM as well as 128GB of storage on the topmost models. Keeping the lights on will be a 3365mAh and the device will run on Android 8.1 OS system. We’ll find out all the specs when the models are officially unveiled.
