On October 30th, ZTE introduced its latest flagship dubbed the Nubia X to its popular Nubia brand in China. While the phone’s biggest unique selling point is its dual displays, the rest of its specifications are nothing short of awe-inspiring either. Nubia X features a dual 6.26 inch + 5.1inch screen, Snapdragon 845 with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM, dual rear 16MP + 24MP Camera, 3800mAh Battery and Android 8.1. Currently, it is available for only $369.99 in a flash sale of Geekbuying and Gearbest also offering it in just $379.99.
The Nubia X packs two displays – a 6.26-inch FHD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display on the front with barely any bezels and a secondary 5.1-inch HD+ AMOLED screen at the back. Even with two displays, the device carries a thin form factor with a thickness of 8.4mm and weighs in at 181 grams.
There are fingerprint scanners that Nubia claims will unlock the smartphone in under 0.1 seconds and is featured on both sides of the phone to make it easy for both left-handed and right-handed people to use. The two displays are plastered onto a 7000-series aviation-grade aluminum frame with a curved 3D glass for the rear side.
On the specs front, the device is powered by a Snapdragon 845 chip with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. Nubia is implementing a multi-layer graphene cooling system, 18W fast charging and a 3800mAh battery on the Nubia X. There’s an ultra-low-power setting that will last to up to 3 hours on 5% of battery.
Since there’s a display on the rear side, the rear dual camera is also what users will be able to use for selfies as well. The Nubia X sports a dual 16MP (f/1.8) + 24MP (f/1.7) camera set up above the secondary display at the back with dual pixel PDAF, AI scene recognition, HDR, AI portrait mode and slow-motion video recording at 240fps. For selfies alone, the camera will be able to use the larger soft-light LED during low light scenarios.
Nubia X runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with a personalized Nubia UI 6.0 X on top. There is support for gesture-based navigation, AI dual-screen switching and a dedicated app to force users to develop healthy eye habits.
Nubia X will allow users to use the secondary screen to be used for added functions when gaming. In terms of connectivity, the device will feature 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack.
