Performance and Stability:

The rom is running on android marshmallow over the miui 8 version 8.6 which is quite stable and performing very well, i am testing it since a week and every thing is working like a charm. The rom is buttery smooth and personally i like the custom UI of MIUI 8 which is a very refined version of Android with lots of additional features like dual apps, second space quick ball and many more i will talk about these features later in the video.

If we talk about the performance of this rom then i am glad to say that it is almost 95% stable. I didn’t face any random reboots or force closing of apps in a usage of 7 days. The ram management is also good and we will be getting around 2.7 gb of free ram on the first boot but after installing 10 to 20 apps you will get around 2 gb of free ram which is normal and running them in background i didn’t face any lag while swiping between the apps.

Battery Performance:

Moving forward to the battery performance which is a major concern of every user including me. But we dont have to worry about that as some of you may know that miui is famous for its battery performance capabilities and due to which i am getting about 5 hours of screen on time with moderate gaming, browsing and music listening.

The charging time is also acceptable as it will take around 1.30 to 2 hours to full change the battery from 0 to 100. So in battery department a big thumbs up to the developer.

Features:

Miui 8 is also famous for implementing some additional features which you won’t find in any other custom skinned Android.

Features like second space through which you can creat two different user with separate data are very useful and well implemented. Other features like quick ball for better control of your device, a dedicated app lock, three fingers swipe to take screen shot, redesigned notification panel which chnages color according to the temperature, separate cleaner and security app for better management and the list is quite long.

You can also find some additional features in stock settings and from there you can change the dpi size, you can enable double tap to wake and music control gestures to control your music. So all and all there are lots of integrated features which you will definitely find useful.

Camera:

One of my favorite app of Miui 8 is the camera app which requires no introduction as it is the best camera app which i have used in any android device and if you have previously used MIUI the you will surely agree with me.

By just tapping and moving your finger up and down you can adjust the exposure. Oneplus 2 has laser auto focus system which is also working great the focusing speed is really fast and you wont notice the focus shift. You will also get a manual mode if you like to control every aspect maually.

Missing Features:

But some features are missing like you can only shoot video at 1080p resolution, slow motion is not supported and live filters are also missing. But still you can click some awesome photos these are some sample images with enabled HDR.

One more thing which makes me surprised is the fingerprint scanner which is working much better then stock oxygen os with 98? accuracy and it is blazing fast.

Bugs:

At last if we talk about the bugs then i must say i didn’t encountered any bugs in the usage of 7 days which is really surprising. But rather then bugs some features of miui 8 is missing in this rom like dual apps is not working, in music app you will not get the equaliser option, clock app is missing, one handed mode is not working, music control buttons are also not working etc.

But i think you dont have to worry about that as i told you earlier that it is an official build so these issues will be fixed anytime soon.

Except these missing features every thing including both the sim card is working and network reception as well as call quality is good.

Final Verdict:

So my final verdict for this rom is that if you can live with these missing features then i must recommend this rom because it offers lots of features, a good sound quality, a best in class camera app, the battery performance is good and the fingerprint scanner is working much better as compared to the stock oxygen os.

Installation:

So now lets me show you how you can install this rom on your oneplus 2 as well as on oneplus 3 by just following some simple steps.

The prerequisites are

1- Your bootloader should be unlocked and you should have pre installed twrp recovery.

2- Your battery should be at least 60? charged.

Now first boot your device into twrp recovery and for that you have to switch off your device now just hold the power button + volume down key for few seconds until you see the one plus logo.

After booting into twrp recovery the first thing which you have to do is to make a backup of your current rom which is highly recommended once it is done go back and click on wipe to wipe the system partition. The last thing which you have to do is to go back and click on install and navigate the ROM zip file and select it now just swioe this blue button to right in order to flash the rom zip file.

Once the ROM is installed reboot your device the first boot will take around 10 minutes so don’t worry just let the boot finish. Now as you can see we have successfully installed the miui 8 rom on our devices.
