Compared to Japanese and Korean brands, Chinese TV manufacturers continue to grow. This is especially true for Xiaomi and the Mi TV lineup. And speaking of which, the company shipped 8.93 million units worldwide, of which 7.56 million were sold in the national market, while only 1.37 million units were shipped to India. All this supposes an increase of 180%, in comparison with other years. In total, Xiaomi’s global sales increased by 229% during the year. As a result, it has the fastest growth over other TV brands and has managed to enter the top 10 TV market in China.
Xiaomi Mi TV occupies 8 positions of the Top 10 in China
Li Xiaoshuang, General Director of the Xiaomi TV Department, provided interesting data. One of them is a report on the top 10 of the best-selling TV models in the Chinese market in the first 6 weeks of 2019. The most important thing is that the Xiaomi Mi TV line, surprisingly, has occupied 8 positions out of 10.
The list of best-selling TVs includes several models of different sizes ranging from 32 inches to 65 inches, the vast majority of these are, of course, from the Xiaomi Mi TV line. The company occupied the first to sixth place, the ninth and the tenth, therefore, only the seventh and eighth places are occupied by other brands: Hisense and Cool, respectively.
Now, if we talk about the global performance of Japanese and Korean brands, the total shipments of Samsung (South Korea) fell by 5%compared to other years. Also, general shipments of LG (also from South Korea) fell 2%, while the deficit of Sony (Japan) in the global market is more serious, total shipments fell 9%.
