Screen and design

The main change in Mi Band 4 in relation to Mi Band 3 is precisely on the screen. The new wristband features a 0.95-inch color display with a resolution of 240 x 120 pixels, larger than the predecessor’s monochrome panel which was 0.78 inches and has a 128 x 80-pixel resolution. The new device also has several options of rubberized and colored bracelets to customize it, just like the Mi Band 3, but stands out by the special edition of the Avengers.

One of the biggest upgrades is the display. Band 4 has a 2.5D glass, 0.95 inches, 240×120 resolution AMOLED Color Screen. Whether the resolution or the display area is almost doubled compared to the Band 3. It uses touch interaction technology with a touch to turn-back button. The interaction on the Mi band 4 is easy to understand.

Bluetooth 5.0

The great novelty, for the moment, is that both wristbands will connect via Bluetooth 5.0, a great improvement over the Xiaomi Mi Band 3, which is connected via Bluetooth 4.2. Thanks to Bluetooth 5.0 we will have a stronger connection and a greater reach compared to previous generations.

Mi Band 4 maintains the same promise of Mi Band 3 to deliver 20-day autonomy with only one recharge, as long as the device is in sleep mode. The capacity, however, increased from 110 mAh to 135 mAh. The Band 4 has 135 mAh battery, the official data shows that the standard MI Band 4 version has 20 days of battery life, for NFC version 15 days.

Additional Resources

In addition to the sensors that heartbeat and steps, present in the Mi Band 3, the new Mi Band 4 has an accelerometer. The bracelet can still control the music, a function that the predecessor model did not have.

Protection against water

Mi Band 3 already had the capacity to support up to 5 ATM deep, that is, 50 meters. This feature was maintained in Mi Band 4, increasing the monitoring of aquatic activities.
