The developers of Xiaomi are constantly immersed in new projects. Every day the company brings us news and announcements about everything they are working on, which always keeps consumers on the lookout. That’s why this company is well known for always updating its products and creating new improved versions of them. This time it is the turn of a new version of the Mi Band 3 with NFC.
Mi Band 3 with NFC for payments
From AndroidTR, exclusively with official sources of Xiaomi, we reveal this new version that has received by code name Chongpinq. The information has been found through the MiFit application and they assure us that this is something that Xiaomi is currently working on.
Until now, we only knew of its existence because of Xiaomi’s mention at the conference. We recall that the company spoke of a Xiaomi Mi Band 3 with NFC (Near Field Communication). Now we are finally able to see photos of the interface of this new device.
With this technology, the device can be used as a bus card in 167 cities in China. And of course, it will allow you to make other payments directly by placing the bracelet on a dataphone. However, it will be necessary to wait to know the compatibility with mobile payment systems in all countries.
But how can we be sure that it is the same device?
The normal version of the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 is codenamed “Wuhan” while in this one we can read Chongqing. In both cases, the graphical interface that we will see in the bracelet shows the same elements. That is to say that visually they are the same device, as far as software is concerned.
Which means that this device can connect with others in a comfortable and efficient way. However, we must see if soon more details and functions of this new version will come to light.
Features of the Xiaomi Mi Band 3
- SCREEN: OLED 0.78 inches / touch (120 × 80 pixels)
- BATTERY: 110 mAh (20 days of autonomy)
- SENSORS: Accelerometer (ADI) and heart rate monitor
- HERMETICITY: IP67 + 5 ATM resistance (waterproof up to 50 meters)
- CONNECTIVITY: Bluetooth 4.2 LE
The normal version released on June 5 has an official value of 169 yuan ($26,42) in China. Although you can find it in Gearbest for $39.99, and we invite you to read our review. While, for the version with NFC, Xiaomi announced that it could be purchased for 199 yuan (26 euros) and will not be available until September.
Amazfit Bip 2 also found in MiFit
This device has received the code name DongTingHu and at the moment there are no visualizations of its interface. But the AndroidTR team has managed to study its code and everything indicates that it is the Amazfit Bip 2.
Apparently, it is not recycling code from other devices or from the same Amazfit Bip (1). While other models share code libraries like the one that allows you to control GPS, this model refers to its own code.
Through this, we could know that it will have a GPS manufactured by Sony. It will also offer compass, accelerometer and NFC functions. In addition to the “Sport” mode, it seems that it will also have a sleep detection mode. This means that in case we spend a lot of time in an inactive state the clock will inform us that it is a good time to get up and stretch a bit.
One of the functions that bring more curiosity is a possible reference to a memory. Although, it may simply be about the storage of the watch faces.
However, when you see records of these devices in the MiFit application, you can give us the certainty that they are very close to launching. So we will be on the lookout to inform you of its availability.
