According to the leaked photos the phone has a code name of the Meizu M96. And though it has been leaked with E letter earlier and many began to think it stands for Edge, no certain info is known at the moment. The only thing is the code name spotted in benchmark screenshots, which should become the main naming we’ll use before the phone is announced officially.
As you can assume from the photos, the Meizu M96 will come with Android 6.0.1 pre-installed. Thus users will get a high-end smartphone with the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system on board.
The presence of Samsung’s latest Exynos 8890 SoC is confirmed too. It is also paired with Mali-T880 GPU and 4GB RAM, i.e. the performance of the device will be top-notch. As for the memory, seems it will come with 32GB of ROM, which can be expanded via microSD card slot.
Two other important info we can grab from this benchmark. The Meizu M96 should sport a QHD screen at a resolution of 2560×1440. And finally, it will be packed with two cameras – one on the back and one on the front. They will come at 12MP and 5MP respectively. However, no certain information about the lens is available at the moment.
As for the benchmark itself, this model scored 120.000 and seems it is not the limit.
Though we don’t know when the phone will be launched, it was supposed the Meizu’s new flagship will release on August 10. It didn’t happen and we have a new date for its announcement, September 3.
