Earlier, the Chinese tech company Huawei announced its own operating system, HarmonyOS as an alternative to Google’s Android platform. Now, we come across the news that the Huawei’s much-awaited Huawei Smart TV will be powered by the domestic operating system i.e. HarmonyOS and expected to be launched on September 19.
The reservations have been started for the TV in China on 9th September via JD.com.
The Huawei Smart TV is among the first products to install the HarmonyOS. The JD.com website reveals the information regarding the full time-table of the TV release along with the launch date.

Further, the webpage also writes that the company will host a global launch event on September 19 for the TV. This event is expected to be hosted in Munich, Germany as mentioned in a poster released by Huawei on Weibo.
As per the rumors, the smart TV will go on pre-orders right from September 20. But the poster didn’t mention this date. It only clears that the reservations for the TV has been teed off and buyers can make the reservations from 9th of September.
The pre-order date section only writes two words, ‘Stay Tuned’. However, we can expect the smart TV to go on sale soon after the launch event.
The upcoming smart TV from Huawei will be the second device after the Honor Smart Screen from this brand to install HarmonyOS.
We know little about the Smart Screen but it was certified at China’s National Quality Certification Centre.
As per the certification page, the Huawei smart TV will come in two variants – the 55-inch model and the 65-inch model. Both of them are manufactured by China’s leading LCD manufacturers, the Hefei BOE Video Technology Co. LTD. Later, the company CEO mentioned that Smart TV also has a 75-inch variant.
