Huawei P9 leaked to feature a massive 6GB of RAM – Goes ahead of entry level laptops

After Mate 8, which we covered a comprehensive review, Huawei P9 is going to be succeeding the smartphone in more than one ways. According to the latest leak courtesy of My Drivers, Huawei P9 might sport the same chipset as Mate 8, but it appears that the upcoming handset is going to be feature a tremendous amount of RAM. The source states that the smartphone could possibly announced be announced at CES, or Consumer Electronics Show, which is going to take off later this month in Las Vegas.

6GB of LPDDR4 RAM is going to be a part of the internals, but we have stated before that just like P8, Huawei P9 is most likely going to be announced in several models, and have been listed below:

  • P9 Lite (5.0 inch screen)
  • P9 (5.2 inch screen)
  • P9 Max (6.8 inch screen)

Keep in mind that these screen sizes are just speculations because these are the same dimensions used on the company’s predecessors. One of the similarities between Mate 8 and P9 will be that the latter will also feature a Kirin 950; Kirin has been the backbone of Huawei’s smartphone and tablet business. The chipset will be running the following processor configuration:

  • Quad-core 2.3 GHz Cortex-A72
  • Quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex A53

However, perhaps the biggest change in Huawei P9 will be the fact that it will sport not one, but two cameras at the rear side and both of them will have a resolution of 13MP. There is currently no word on the front camera, but the rear ones will belong to Sony’s IMX2X6, which we are currently not sure regarding the model name, since this is the information posted by the Chinese source. Regardless, we will continue to keep you informed on the latest happenings during CES and hopefully, Huawei will bedazzle us with another one of its powerful and premium designed smartphone products.
