Huawei Mate 30 now allows its customers to unlock bootloader

This is right, now Huawei will allow its customers who are using the Huawei mate 30 to unlock the bootloader to manually install the Google play store and flash Custom ROMs.

This month Huawei have launched the new phones Huawei Mate 30 and 30 pro. As we know the Huawei phone will not come with the Google play store from now. Unless the phones work on the android operating system, still they are not allowed to use the store. This is the result of the trade tensions between the US and China.

So the latest news now is that the Huawei Mate 30 and the 30 pro runs on Android os. It is Skinned with the EMUI. And now you can install the Google Play Store on these phones. So you can also say that the devices have their boostloaders unlocked.

During the launch of the smartphones, Huawei CEO, Richard YU stated that the company will not support unlocking the bootloader on the Mate 30 duo. As it could introduce security threats and worsen performance because of non-optimised custom ROMs.

Taking their specs and features into consideration, both the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro are excellent devices. However, the fact that users won’t be able to unlock the bootloader on them for additional benefits, had become a thorn in its flesh. In fact, this could dissuade potential customers from buying them who would have initially thought of sideloading Google Play store to access the plethora of apps on offer.

Following the original statement, the company CEO has shared another statement which clarifies that users need not worry as it will now allow Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro customers to unlock their bootloader. Listed below is the latest statement shared by him.

“We limited [bootloader unlocking] because we wanted to guarantee more security for consumers. But this time we will leave more freedom for the consumers so they can do more customization by themselves. So we are planning to let consumers do that.”

All in all, this is great news for consumers who are looking forward to buying either of the flagship handsets from Huawei. Besides, it also highlights the fact that the company does not have a set strategy to handle the US situation. And is responding according to developments which we believe is the best option for it right now.
