Thinner than most smartphones on this market segment, and heavier than average, the p9000 is 152.60 mm high, 76.20 mm wide, and has a depth of 8.00 mm, which is 10% thinner than an average smartphone released in 2015. In fact, the Elephone p9000 is thin enough to have a case and still be thinner than an average smartphone.

Elephone P9000 dimensions With a weight of 150 grams, its weight is average for the dimensions. The battery is the main reason behind this; it is quite large.

Elephone P9000 Front Display and BUildThe Elephone p9000 comes with a 5.5-inch display, which is a little larger than an average phone released in 2015. Since the screen is over 5.3 inches, the Elephone p9000 can be classified as a phablet. This also means that for most of its users, this smartphone will be difficult to use with one hand when compared to phones with smaller screens.

The screen has a resolution of 1920 px by 1080 px, making it a 1080p HD screen. Display sharpness can be ranked in the density of the pixels per square inch of screen, and at 400 PPI, we can say it’s 1.5 times sharper than the average smartphones that were released in 2015.

With the 4 GB of RAM, we can say for sure that the Elephone p9000 has much more memory than the other smartphones that were released back in 2015. We were disappointed a little when we saw that the p9000 doesn’t have a Deca-Core processor as the Company announced it, but still, the Octa-Core MTK6755 Helio P10 CPU that runs at 2.0 GHz is a good replacement.

Together with the 4GB of RAM and ARM Mali-T860 GPU we assure you that you won’t have any problems at all running any of the high-demanding applications.

Also, if you are a person that loves to play mobile games, you will be able to play your favorite games without any problems at all.

Its 8-megapixel front camera makes it an excellent choice for selfies. P9000 can capture 1080p high definition video with its primary camera.
The images taken with the Elephone p9000 have a high level of sharpness, details and color quality that Sony lenses are mostly famous for. Here you can see some of the picture samples taken with the primary camera:

Internal Storage Capacity

The base model of the Elephone p900 has 32 GB of the internal storage capacity, which makes it a reliable choice for storing a modest amount of media and many other files among smartphones that were released in 2015.

But if 32 GB is not enough for your requirements, there are other size options (64GB) or you can increase its storage for an additional 128GB with a microSD card which makes it 160 GB in total, which is great when you take into consideration that we are talking about the phone.

Operating System

Elephone p9000 comes with pre-installed Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. We have spent some time in testing the OS, and we have created the pros & cons list:

Now on Tap is handy, has great potential It’ll be a while before everyone gets it
Improved search and voice commands Now on Tap sometimes swings and misses
New permissions give users more control Permissions can seem intrusive
Flex Storage blurs the line between internal, external storage

OS Summary:

Although this is not as a huge cosmetic upgrade as last year’s big update, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow does an excellent job of addressing Lollipop’s characteristics.

More importantly, Google is flexing its contextual smarts with the increase of features like Now on Tap and also improved version of permissions that will give users a better understanding of what their apps are trying to do.

Our Opinion

After examining the Elephone p9000, we can say our personal thoughts about the model. This is a quality-made smartphone, aimed to win the shoppers in the worldwide market, and to pair the biggest flagships of today. Great specs, quality build, and a new and fresh OS are reasons well worthy to consider this phone. And one particular reason more, which had to be stated separately – this device costs a fraction of the flagships around the world and provides same (better on some aspects) specs.

The Pre-Sale started recently, and there won’t going to be many phones at this price, so if you’re up for a great device, you need to hurry.
