Cubot x10 Design

According to the Cubot Company, this is the slimmest waterproof smartphone in the world. You can see a beautiful and elegant design. The phone dimensions are 76.5 x 153.8 x 7.3 mm, and it feels a bit large in the hand, especially if you have smaller hands.

Proximity sensor and light sensor are located on the top of the Cubot X10. At the bottom of the device, we can see three buttons (menu, home and return button) but unlike many other smartphones, these buttons do not have any backlight. Also, you can see that the side of the phone is covered with the CNC golden metal frame.

On the back side of the smartphone, we can see the company logo, a noise canceling microphone, and a camera with True Flash LED as we mentioned before. Back side is made of hard glass, and it comes with the pre-installed screen protector. Just like on the many other smartphones, on the right side of the Cubot X10 you can find a volume rocker and lock button.

To be honest, with the design of CUBOT x10, we have noticed that it looks very similar to the latest iPhone 6. Note that the Cubot X10 is only available in Irony Grey and Golden White color.

Back side of the Cubot x10

The Cubot X10 comes with a 5.5-inch 1080 IPS screen which has a 273 PPI. The screen is just the right size for any use that you intend the smartphone for. This screen will get you covered no matter if you decide to watch some videos or a movie. Sunlight readability and viewing angle are almost perfect. With a full HD resolution of a 1080p, we believe that this smartphone won’t disappoint you.

Reviewing the Cubot x10 display

After the design of the Cubot X10, the hardware is the main highlight; it comes with the mid-class 1.4 GHz MediaTek MT6592 Octa-Core processor, combined with the 2GB of RAM. No matter if you are a gamer, or you are using this phone for business purposes, this device will run it all without any problems. Since Cubot X10 comes with the internal 16 GB of storage capacity, if that is not enough for your personal needs, you can always upgrade it via microSD card up to 64 GB so in total, you would have 80 GB of storage which is really nice.

Here’s a decent card to upgrade your Cubot X10 Storage.

Since the price tag of the Cubot X10 is low, it would be unfair if we expect outstanding camera performance as well as awesome hardware, but still the device packs a decent 13 Megapixels primary camera that is placed at the top of the back side together with flash and auto focus feature. The camera interface provides various options for all sort of users. There are standard options such as scene mode, white balance, face and smile detection. Other, non-standard options include voice capture, gesture shot, zero shutter delay, anti-flickering mode and auto scene detection.

Testing the Cubot x10 camera quality by taking a random pictures

In daylight, it can take a vibrant and really cool picture, but you might have to compromise when capturing images in low-light conditions. 13 Megapixels camera is able to record 1080p full HD videos at a rate of max 30 frames per second with included HDR, dual-video recording features, and stabilization. We have also prepared some sample pictures that are taken with the Cubot x10 camera:

As you can see, pictures taken during the day time have really great quality and they can be zoomed multiple times without getting any pixels that would ruin their quality.

The Cubot X10 comes with a pre-installed KitKat OS. The user interface is elegant and refined, there are improvements to the long-neglected messaging and calling side of the platform. After spending some time with the device, we have prepared a pros and cons list which imply to the OS.

Waterproof feature

This is the first time that the Cubot Company combines the waterproof function with their smartphone. At first, we were a bit skeptic since we thought the waterproof feature is not that good like the manufacturers said it is.

So after we decided to test it, we could get [clan] relief with the verification that the waterproof function works well as you can see on the pictures bellow.
