One of the second-tier China-based manufacturers that is known for its affordable tablets and laptops (and not only) has released a new 10.1-inch Android tablet named the Chuwi HiPad. The selling point of the tablet is the MediaTek Helio X27 CPU, which is way better than the previous-gen Helio X20. Moreover, the appearance of the HiPad looks like the Nubia Red Magic. So there is every reason to think we are dealing with a game tablet. Anyway, this amazing product that is going to make a tough competition in the 10-inch tablet market costs $130.99.
The Chuwi HiPad comes with a black metal housing with a 3D back panel. There are used red lines as design elements. Its thickness is 9.4mm, but the thinnest part reaches 8mm. This product also weighs 490 grams, which is a quite lightweight for a 10-inch tablet. The edges are rounded that make it great in terms of ergonomics.
As we said, the Chuwi HiPad sports a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200. This is good but most of the Chinese 10-inch tablets come with a resolution of 2,560 × 1,600. So many may look towards other product if the mentioned resolution is a decisive factor for them. But when taking this product as a game tablet, there are a few things we should discuss. Say, if the display resolution is lower, the CPU load will be smaller. So the apps and games will run more smoothly. Even if you look at the Windows gaming notes, it is a trend to increase the refresh rate instead of FHD resolution even for high-priced items.
Under the hood, the Chuwi HiPad carries an Helio X27 deca-core chip clocked at a maximum frequency of 2.6GHz. Though this is an X27-powered device, the HiPad supports dual-band WiFi only. There is no LTE support. Anyway, the SoC is paired with a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM. The battery capacity is 7000mAh. At last, it runs on Android 8.0.
