January 26, 2024

Minisforum has introduced the EliteMini HX100G, a compact Mini PC that marries the AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS APU with a dedicated RX 6650M GPU. The HX100G is now available for purchase through the official Minisforum store, offering a compelling solution for gamers, designers, and creative professionals seeking a blend of power and portability.

Priced competitively, the barebone version of the HX100G is listed at $719, while the 32GB RAM + 1TB SSD configuration comes in at $905. The top-tier model, featuring 64GB RAM and a 1TB SSD, is priced at $995, providing users with the flexibility to choose a configuration that suits their specific needs.

As a successor to the HX99G, the HX100G introduces several notable upgrades, with the standout being the incorporation of the AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS processor. Fabricated using a cutting-edge 4nm process, this flagship processor boasts 8 cores, 16 threads, a base frequency of 3.8GHz, and a maximum boost clock of 5.1GHz. The integration of the Radeon 780M GPU in the FP8 slot, coupled with a TDP ranging from 35W to 54W, results in an 8% improvement in single-core performance and a 16% boost in multi-core performance compared to its predecessor.

Complementing the potent CPU, the HX100G features the AMD Radeon RX 6650M dedicated graphics card with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM. This GPU, supporting AMD Smart Access Memory technology, boasts a TDP of up to 100 watts, delivering exceptional performance for 1080P AAA gaming and excelling in resource-intensive tasks such as professional photo editing, 4K video editing, and complex 3D rendering.

A key advantage of the HX100G lies in its expandability, with two DDR5 memory slots supporting a maximum of 64GB dual-channel memory clocked at an impressive 5600MHz. The device also provides flexibility in storage with a default M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD slot supporting up to 2TB and an additional M.2 2280 SSD slot for NGFF SATA or NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSDs.

To address thermal considerations, the HX100G incorporates a robust cooling solution with liquid metal cooling, dual exhaust vents, dual fans, and a 7-heat pipe system (3 for the CPU, 4 for the GPU). This design ensures efficient heat dissipation, maintaining low noise levels even under full load.

Connectivity options on the HX100G are diverse, featuring front-panel audio ports, two USB 3.2 interfaces (1 Type-A and 1 Type-C), and a rear panel equipped with 2 USB-A 3.2 Gen1, 1 USB-A 3.2 Gen2, 2 USB4, 2 HDMI ports, RJ45 2.5G Ethernet, and power input. This extensive range of ports enables simultaneous connection to two 8K@60Hz (via USB4) and two 4K@60Hz (via HDMI) displays.

Constructed from carbon fiber material, the HX100G strikes a balance between weight and strength within its compact 2.9L volume. The use of carbon fiber adds to the overall aesthetic appeal, positioning the HX100G as a performance powerhouse and a high-performance productivity Mini PC that rivals traditional desktops and gaming laptops.

With its impressive specifications, expandability, advanced cooling, and sleek design, the Minisforum EliteMini HX100G emerges as a compelling choice for users seeking equivalent performance in a more compact, energy-efficient, and quieter form factor. The HX100G sets a new standard for high-performance Mini PCs, catering to the diverse needs of modern gamers and creative professionals alike.
