Recently, I got the GameSir T4 Kaleid Wired Gamepad, and I’m excited to share my personal experience with you today.

Unboxing

The packaging of the GameSir has consistently been handled with great care to ensure its safe delivery. The entire package is made of sturdy carton material. The GameSir brand is prominently displayed on the upper left corner of the front side. Additionally, the center of the package showcases a realistic image of the Controller, providing a clear representation of the product, along with the series model number.

On the side and back of the box, you’ll find information printed regarding the platforms it supports, including PC, NS, and Android boxes. Additionally, the functions of the buttons and rockers of the Controller are also introduced in these sections. This information can be helpful in getting started with using the Controller and understanding its capabilities.

Once you have opened the box and taken out all the packaging, you will find a few additional items besides the T4 Kaleid Controller. These include a 2-meter-long TYPE-C braided cable, a manual to help you get started with your new device, and a warranty card to ensure your peace of mind.

The T4 Kaleid version, much like the GameSir G7 that I have previously reviewed, utilizes a detachable and separate braided Type-C cable for connecting, thereby ensuring a steady and effective transmission. The cable that comes as standard is of exceptional quality, very pliable, and has a satisfactory length for all kinds of wiring requirements. Whether you’re using it in your study or your living room, it can be easily employed within the wired range.

Design

The T4 Kaleid Wired version of GameSir’s T4 Series boasts a stunning, cyberpunk-inspired design that is sure to turn heads. Perhaps the most striking feature of the controller is its fully transparent panel, which offers a unique view of the inner workings of the device. The T4 Series has already seen multiple versions released, including the T4W wired, T4 Pro, and T4 Mini wireless, but the T4 Kaleid Wired version is all about aesthetics.

Built with an XBOX layout, the T4 Kaleid Wired version measures 156x107x60mm and weighs in at a mere 215 grams. This makes it significantly lighter than the G7, which also features an XBOX layout. The handle body is sleek and angular, with a design that is both modern and eye-catching.

The T4 Kaleid model features fully transparent front and rear shells with wave points, allowing clear visibility of the immersion gold circuit board inside. The sleek and fashionable appearance of this model greatly surpasses the conventional black body design. As for why this model’s name is “Kaleid” it comes with two light-emitting tubes inside a Transparent shell.

The button layout consists of an upper rocker and mechanical cross keys on the left, and an ABCY and lower rocker on the right. ABXY adopts Kaihua micro-motion all-mechanical buttons, which respond instantly to operations. The buttons come with silicone spring walls, which feel crisp and crisp when pressed, similar to the left and right buttons of a mouse, and the operation is very comfortable.

The central panel features a fully transparent design, providing a direct view of the internal circuit and configuration structure, and includes a Home button, BACK button, START button, and M button. Moreover, the mechanism of the T4 Kaleid model has been significantly improved, eliminating drift from the root.

The GameSir T4 Kaleid gaming controller comes with dual GameSir™ Hall Effect joysticks that allow you to customize the dead zone between 0-100%. The Hall Effect joysticks function by converting the signal generated by the joystick’s position change into a digital signal, eliminating the need for physical contact and ensuring zero wear throughout the process. This feature eliminates handle drift and maintains a stable trajectory and precise positioning at all times. Additionally, the joystick has an impressive service life of up to 5 million uses, making it highly durable and able to withstand even the most intense gaming sessions.

The handle’s top is a crucial component at present, featuring an all-black design and four trigger buttons (RT, RB, LT, and LB) positioned on the left and right sides. The GameSir T4 Kaleid utilizes an electromagnetic Hall trigger that enables the user to configure the dead zone’s effective range. This trigger generates an entire electromagnetic induction output that includes 256 levels ranging from 0 to 255. The response interval is much shorter than 0.1mm, providing a smooth and uninterrupted gaming experience. Its step-by-step pressing feedback closely resembles a genuine driving experience. Additionally, the fast trigger mode can be activated by using the M+LT/RT trigger combination.

The central position features a TYPE-C interface for a wired connection. Personally, I prefer this option as it eliminates the need for charging and allows for easy plug-and-play with the cable anytime. Additionally, I don’t have to worry about battery aging or replacement. What’s even better is that the interface is detachable and wired, making it incredibly convenient for storage purposes.

The device features a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom, enabling users to directly connect wired headphones and experience the immersive sound effects of large movies in the game. With this design, there’s no need to go around and plug in the game device, making it a very flexible option. It’s worth noting that T4 Kaleid is compatible with a wide range of platforms, including PC, Switch, and Android, allowing for multi-platform gaming experiences.

The left and right grips of the controller come with two naturally asymmetrical vibration motors! which can use with PC, SWITCH, and Android boxes. These motors allow for precise control of the current and voltage! allowing the player to feel the vibrations of in-game events such as collisions, explosions, frictions, and blows! enhancing the overall gaming experience. Additionally, the controller features native somatosensory support for the Switch and a built-in six-axis gyroscope! which can help players achieve greater precision in somatosensory control. As a result, this controller is a great choice for NS players who want a more immersive and precise gaming experience.

On the back of the device, you’ll immediately notice the R4 and L4 custom buttons, which are designed to catch the eye. These buttons can be used for macro recording and burst setting with the GameSir PC APP, and can be customized to any key to suit the preferences and gaming habits of the player. These buttons are particularly useful during gameplay, making it easier to execute complex moves and actions.

In the center of the back, you’ll also find the product certification logo sticker! which is a common feature of electronic devices. What sets this device apart, however, is the use of a transparent shell on the back. This allows the light effect to shine through! creating a unique and beautiful blurry effect that is often overlooked on similar products.

The ABS material used for the overall construction of the product provides a solid and sturdy feel, but it’s the granulated surface that truly enhances the hand feel. The textured surface results in a thick and comfortable grip! while the palm is fully filled to create a tactile and frictional hold. This allows adult users to fully grasp the device, achieving stable pinch output during gaming sessions. Additionally, the top shoulder button is designed to be easily accessible without requiring any adjustments to the palm. The button size is just right and conforms to a conventional grip, making it comfortable for extended use.

GameSir T4k App

To customize and change keys on the GameSir T4K controller! you will need to download and install the “GameSir T4K” app. With this app, you can fully customize your gaming experience. The app is easy to use, and each customization item has its own detailed page. You can customize various aspects of the controller, including the handle, buttons, joysticks, triggers, vibrations, lights, and body sensations. The app also offers synchronous adaptation for various types of games.

Furthermore, the GameSir T4K app comes with three onboard editing profiles! which allows you to choose the best configuration for each game you play. This feature is incredibly useful, and the app provides great background support. With the GameSir T4K app, you can truly personalize your gaming experience and optimize your performance.

RGB Effects

In the app, you have the ability to adjust the RGB light effects that are programmable. The configuration of the game controller itself is impressive! and you can enhance it further by adding two RGB light strips. But the real showstopper is the addition of RGB lights. The 5 areas and 16.8 million programmable optical fibers combine to outline the fuselage! and the transparent shell intensifies the light effect, making it absolutely stunning.

This controller will light up any room at night. By default, there are 4 lighting effects that come with the controller. However, with the GamSir T4K App, you can adjust the effect speed, brightness, and lighting mode! and more to find the perfect setting for you. It’s worth noting that the intensity of the light effect automatically adjusts according to the size of the audio! giving you a more immersive gaming experience. If you don’t like the built-in light effects, you can always turn them off.

Gaming Experience

Let’s take a closer look at the gaming experience offered by the GameSir T4 Kaleid controller. This controller is compatible to play platform games on both computers and the Nintendo Switch (NS). The wired connection ensures that there is no delay in performance, particularly when playing NS games. The GameSir T4 Kaleid is an optimized version of the G7! offering better tactile feedback while retaining the benefits of fine triggering. In comparison to the G7, the overall gaming experience is more comfortable and lighter.

On PC, I have tried popular games such as “Forza Horizon 5” and “Elden Ring” successively. The overall control feel of the T4 Kaleid is quite good, and the feedback of the ABXY keys is fast and accurate. The sensitivity of the left and right sticks is also high. Each key rebounds neatly when pressed, and the sound is crisp. The Hall trigger is silky smooth when depressed. Every vibration feedback can also be fed back to both hands synchronously. In addition, with exclusive software, the dead zone can be turned on when playing racing games to reduce false touch areas, and the vehicle will not automatically shift due to light touch.

When testing shooting games, the veteran IP of Halo is indispensable, and it fully supports Xbox controllers. There is no problem with the control, you can point and hit, and the buttons have clear feedback and good feedback. This game has also been played since the era of the first generation of Xbox. Although it is a bit old-fashioned and there is not much innovation, it is still very fun. The control of the dual rocker and the trigger needs to be used in a very subtle way. The shooting feels good and feels like a gun to the flesh.

When playing games like “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” and “Bayonetta 3”! the joystick movements are exceptionally smooth, and there is no dead zone, with high sensitivity. This controller does not exhibit any drift even after extended use.

The left and right trigger buttons feel great to press, and the vibration feedback is spot on. The ABXY buttons are clean and crisp, with a satisfying sense of impact when executing moves. The light effects of the LED strips on both ends and the in-game sound effects complement each other perfectly! providing an immersive and refreshing gaming experience.

Conclusion

The GameSir T4 Kaleid Gamepad is a lightweight and portable option, weighing only 211g. It features a pluggable wiring design and allows you to enjoy hot games anytime, anywhere.

After trying out the controller and using its features, such as the Hall rocker, Hall trigger! mechanical buttons, motion sensor, APP compatibility, double back button, and RGB light strip, I am overall very satisfied. The controller offers great value for its price and is a must-have for leisure time. If you have frequent visitors like relatives and friends, having a pair of these controllers would be ideal. I highly recommend giving it a try, especially for NS players. The transparent shell and illusion lighting effect is particularly eye-catching.
